In our SCCA regional series they run as SPU class cars in the large IT group and they're pretty fast. Most have converted to Yamaha R1 motors. I've no idea why as nearly 100% of the much faster P1 and P2 cars use Suzuki GSXR 1000 motors if they're configured for 1000cc.
In the grand scheme of racing the cost difference between an R1 and a GSXR1000 is trivial. Once you're in for around a grand a weekend all in - or more - you don't economize on stuff that that makes the difference and it only a couple bills.
For some reason I would love to go buy it. Yet I am sure my wife wouldn't love being the co-owner....
i didnt know these were a thing... i would rock that with the body off as a little street buggy to just rip around

I didn't know these existed either. Pretty cheap too.
I have seen them around for sale, I wanted one but the negative is you won't be able to race anybody else that has one.
There's a localish guy who does TT and hilclimbs in one. Really cool car. I'd like to have one of these and a F500 when the family outgrows the karts.
Am I the only one here that was expecting the thread to be about a piano that had been gravely damaged?
