Has SIG fixed the striker dragging & breaking issues on the 365?

I went through all the single stack options a few years ago and picked PPS M2 for myself.

Walther's ergonomics are head of the class.

Sorry just catching up.  Not sure this was brought up but for prone shooting a rest under the forearm.  Then seat the butt tight into your shoulder.  Off arm bent back under the the butt making a fist.  Squeezing and relaxing the fist is your vertical aim.  At this point you should be able to see how your breathing is affecting the aim.  Shoot on breath out after watching the pattern.

I'm a huge fan of the Taurus g2c for carrying but my wife liked it better so now I'm carrying her old ec9s. I like the common ammo shared between several firearms in the house but I've been lusting over the Springfield XD40 for a while. Anyone carry Springfield? Internet reviews like for every other firearm I own are very mixed.

Alright folks, new question.

What should I be doing to improve accuracy with a pistol? Is it just practice?

Mainly with my Ruger ec9s. Not sure if that's pertinent. I'm about 75% with coke cans @ 10y.
The gun is small, but so are my hands. Fits pretty well actually. Just using the sight on top, no laser or anything.

Got a laser pointer? Use a velcro strip, rubber band, or blue / green painters tape to sttach it alongside the frame (if your pistol has ribs for a light / laser, there can work)

Then practice dry fire drills so you can hold the laser point still consistently (it may not lign up with your sight picture - that's OK to get your muscle memory & technique consistent and straight.

Or depending on the front sight design, you can try balancing a dime on the front sitght and dry firing that way. But I end up wasting a lot of time balancing dimes. A laser at 10-15' will show you every wiggle, and laser pointers are cheep.

**Dry fire means *NO* ammunition in the weapon, and I make it a practice to empty, recheck, then make sure ALL AMMUNITION is outside of the room or area where I am practicing.

Thinking a bit on the advice here.

I always heard growing up to not dry fire a weapon. Never understood why. Also worth mentioning that we only ever shot .22. Is it a rimfire thing? Possible damage to the firing pin?

I've heard that too.  I did a bit of reading on it a while ago and the innanets seemed to agree it's probably OK for most modern centerfire cartridges, but not great for rimfires.  If you're worried about the striker/firing pin, you can always buy some plastic "snap caps", which absorb the firing pin energy on a spring loaded primer.

Older revolvers had the firing pin made on the hammer... no "transfer bar.'' Dry firing one like that is a HUGH no no. the modern revolvers and striker fired pistols, no worries. That is my opinion, although I am not a gunsmith, so check with the manufacture.cheeky

I love my 365. It's been great. Comfortable to carry and nice enough to shoot for something so small. Perfect carry piece.

.22 rimfire dryfire with no adapter is generally bad. Centerfire pin goes to empty space; rimfire hits metal. You want soft plastic.

#4 wall anchors work great.

This ammo shortage is alarming. I get 9mm or other very popular calibers but 480 Ruger? 455 webley?

I guess 455 webley shares 45 acp bullets but 480 doesn't share with a lot

When there is a huge rush on buying ammo, you tool up for what is selling the most.  The obscure stuff likely has not had any time on the line yet, this year.

I picked the wrong time to adopt a new caliber.  Steel case Wolf is all I can reliably find in stock, some places are "gouging," I know, I know, it's a free market. Nosler is the only brass case I've found, and I really don't want to pay for it.

I paid too much for these, then the day they were delivered, I got notification that AIM had them in stock again, for normal-ish price.  Figures.

I've been looking for bulk ammo trying to save some dollars but it's all that steel case stuff and seems to cost the same as I can buy at Walmart by my house and what Walmart sells is brass cased.

Current inflated prices, I'd be okay with closer to $1/round or less. Nosler is $1.50+/round everywhere.

I paid about $0.70/round for what's in that photo.  Just ordered the same quantity from AIM for $0.60/round.

It's a tough call, sure isn't a good time to be buying, I've been going to build a Grendel for 4 or 5 years.  I wouldn't exactly say I "panic bought," but the change in administration, and some of the sound bites from their campaigning helped motivate my decision to finally make it happen.  I bought all the parts separately, already had a stripped lower & upper in the safe, just needed to outfit them.  I didn't get the exact barrel I want, it's been out of stock every time I've looked for a year, also kind of settled for the handguard I picked.  We've already talked about the lack of ammo availability, and now I need another scope, maybe Santa can get me one.

So do you need one?  I'm the last person to talk someone out of a new gun, if I had the means and real estate, my home would look like Neo's stockroom on the Matrix.

On the one hand it seems like focusing on making sure I can keep what I have fed is the smart way to go, but on the other having more options if I can't do option 1 would be good.  I don't NEED any more guns or ammo, but I really WANT a Grendel with an 18-24" bull barrel and some 1000 yard glass.   Its was as much a joke as anything, but the best humor is based in truth

I didn't really shop complete uppers, but here's what I can tell you about my recenet-ish (last month and a half) of parts acquisitions.

Brownells & PSA both have Grendel bolts in stock still, PSA is a little cheaper and came back in stock before Brownells so it's the one I went with.  I went with Midway's AR Stoner 20" barrel, it's heavy, straight fluted, stainless, 5R rifling, with a rifle length gas system.  I really wanted their 24" barrel, but like I said earlier, it's been out of stock for over a year.  I wanted stainless and 5R rifling, any 24" barrel I could find in stock was at least 2X the price of the 20" AR Stoner.  Pro2A Tactical has 22" nitrided barrel that Tactical Kinetics makes for them, that I considered, it's about the same price as the 20" AR Stoner, but it's a traditional 6 grove rifling, and Pro2A's customer service answering emails came off a little elitist and snarky.  Bear Creek's only 5R option is 18" and a little more expensive than the AR Stoner.  I wouldn't be surprised if Bear Creek didn't make the AR Stoner barrel for Midway, I've read that ER Shaw does, but haven't corroborated that.

I considered the 6.8 SPC and briefly the .224 Valkyrie for a long ranger, I've got friends with each.  Valkyrie hasn't really lived up to the hype, okay round, but it's not the end-all-be-all Federal claims.  Valkyrie is hotter, and flatter shooting than either, but it's smaller bullet.  Grendel out ballistics the 6.8, but the real reason I went Grendel is in that photo of 10 boxes of Wolf steel case I shared, Affordable ammo is available.  Also I have a .50 Beowulf so it seems fitting to have a Grendel to go along with it.

Preaching to the choir in this thread I know, but I thought this was pretty interesting, and telling, of just how bad the ammo situation is.

This is from Natchez Shooters Supply's Black Friday email ad.  Take a look at the ammo they've got "on sale," a who's who of random and obscure.   The most common round they've got is the .450 Bushmaster and the .338 Lapua, and neither of those are really range day staples.

I've curtailed practicing a bit because of Covid.

Unfortunately, marksmanship is a perishable skill. The days of sending 100 rounds down range every week on the pistol and a rifle might be gone, but I still have to get out there.
