Surely there must be some fans here of the finest show on TV not dealing with the misadventures of Dick Whitman (and maybe the finest show regardless).

While the rest of the losers at the office have not yet seen the light, Sarah, my wife and myself are utter hardcores. Any magazine discussion Sarah and I have via the iChat rapidly devolves into an analysis of at lease a plot point or two. And my wife actually woke me up the other night to ask me if I thought Todd would turn out to be a plant sent by the Germans.

So after last night, what do we know? Hank now known with reasonable certainty who Heisenberg is, but turning him in will cost him his job at a minimum, and likely the shutdown of the entire office. And he STILL doesn't know that Walt and Skylar paid for all his hospital care. Advantage: Team Heisenberg.

I think the players are set now. Some may not be who they seem, but I don't imagine some stranger walking in and saying "i'm the new big bad guy now" and everyone having to go into boss mode for someone we don't even know.

Unless that someone is Hank. By becoming the new Mike, hank can directly work each side against one another. I gotta think that at least crosses his bald head at some point.

And Jesse... Was walt's "Apology" real? Or was he just trying to get back in good with his guy. And what of Badger and Skinny Pete...

I just finished it, still trying to process it.

I think maybe Walt is trying to get Jesse back in his grasp, he isn't done yet.

At this point, I think Walt thinks he's out. But I think there are a lot of other nasty hombres trying to figure that out, too. I do know this: Mike is the catalyst for the future of Jesse. Walt will determine what is best for Jesse (flee, cook, die, live unharmedm be the new bos, whatever.

The real mystery is what was a haired Walt doing eight months later buying a 50-cal chain fed machine gun. If you're tough enough to carry the ammo and the weapon, the world is your oyster. Someone clearlty wants to shoot a LOT of motherberkleyers.

Be a long wait 'til spring

That is an interesting way that it could play out.

I love this show. I unfortunately have Dish so I have to wait until Monday every week to see it. I can't believe it doesn't start back up until next summer. They should just call it season 6 for christ's sake.

You and Usually I can torrent it within a half hour, but that's lame.

I just do the project free TV thing nowadays instead of P2P/torrent stuff. I am pretty torrent ignorant.

I'm a big fan, but!

Hank cracks his big case, magically sitting on the crapper?

Also, as careful as Walt is, he would have have a book pen'ed from Gale sitting around?

Well they have to wrap it up soon, they are running out of episodes.

This show has been our TV crack for the summer -- watched all the earlier seasons and got caught up just in time to catch the last season in real time...

I'm still trying to piece that little flash forward of Walt on his 52nd bday buying weapons. And really........you're meticulous and careful to a fault, doubleplus covering your tracks...........and you leave something that ties you to your criminal life on the back of the toilet that visitors to your house can use???

I wonder if the final part of the season isn't written yet and the writers are now culling the interwebz (yo!) to see what people are thinking and talking about...............and then they'll write the final half of the season.

It did say mid season finale in the title. Enter at own risk.

Orphan, that very well could be a reason why there is such a long break in between the 1st and 2nd half.

In a recent interview I read with vince Gilligan, he basically admitted as much about the rest of the episodes. They had some major plot points they wanted to hit, but the writing on the second half of the season was nowhere near complete, largely by design. They like to give the characters a lot of latitude, and let them evolve organically, and writing too far ahead can unintentionally omit a moment that might otherwise occur.

And, yeah, I did think the book on the back of the john seemed a bit contrived, but I'm not opposed to a bit of dramatic license from time to time—especially when it furthers the narrative in exactly the direction that makes the most sense.

On a related note, I really like that many TV shows are giving themselves end dates. It lends some weight to the proceedings. One of the reasons the X Files eventually sort of fizzled is that everytime the show got renewed they just changed the rules of the universe so they could tell more stories.

I'll miss this show when it's gone, but I love that there's an end coming. Everything matters.

Agreed, I like a show to have a last page. There are always good new shows out there, even if they are only being produced by AMC and FX.

Semi-OT, Why is it the 'best' shows are all on AMC? I love Mad Men, and while I have yet to watch this or Walking Dead, both are highly recommended, both personally and critically.

Back on topic, I plan to start up Breaking Bad on netflix when I finish Mad Men. No AMC in the base dish pack.

I think it is because all of the good/creative writers left Hollywood movies and went to AMC and FX. There is only so many comic book movies and remakes they can take before having to quit.

I think B.B. is the best show since the Sopranos, never missed an episode.

On aa side note, it looks like the mother of all real life drug kingpins just met her fate---
