The photo from space of Malibu is amazing , I knew it was huge but not that huge ,
and the you tube video shows how everything is gone ,
Unlike Northern California the rain down here in SoCal was very light , less than a quarter inch ,
If there is a few inches of heavy rain in a day the mudslides will be very bad and a lot of boulders will be rolling down the hills,,,,,,,

That video popped up yesterday and it's worth watching, helmet cam footage of a helicopter pilot picking up people (and their dogs) off of a ridge.

That is outstanding pilotage and teamwork. My heart rate went up for sure. The irony of the NO SMOKING sticker over the pilot's right shoulder wasn't lost on me.
