I always have to remember to leave my pistol locked up when I go to IKEA.

Who needs to bring a pistol to IKEA?

Me!

I carry wherever I can. It's also incredibly unsafe to deholster, unload, and lock in the middle of a busy parking lot, and really risky to do the reverse when you get back to the car. Nearly impossible to do either without people seeing and getting really curious. Just let me leave it on my hip. If I meant to do something bad, I wouldn't read the sign in the first place.

We take our dog on vacation and occasionally to outdoor patio places that specifically welcome dogs. When we're traveling we often stop at fast food restaurants that have a few outdoor tables, but it's really out of necessity at that point. He's been to Lowes before but it's hard to get any real shopping done while dog handling. Mostly we take him because it's stimulating for him since he spends a lot of time at the house by himself, he loves to ride in the truck. Plus I like my dog and enjoy having him pal around with me, but - big one here - I wouldn't ever take him in places that he isn't welcome or even that might make people uncomfortable. A grocery store, really? C'mon people. He's also getting grumpier as he gets older and like people less, although I can kind of relate to that myself.

I think a "We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone" sign would suffice.

The parking lot not responsible for damage signs makes me want to print a shirt that says "Wearer not responsible for kicks to the head."

Reminds me of a comedian who commented, "I was driving by a special ed school and there's a traffic sign that says 'SLOW CHILDREN'.  How mean is that? They already know they're slow why tell traffic about it?"

I'm going to consider that a positive thing.

I must be like one of those cops mentioned above.

Being a 'pizza boy', well actually I now avoid pizza shops, I curse incessantly about city homes and even large condo buildings with no visible number.

I see it bleeding over and I'm almost always looking for signs.

But.

I returned just to post my favorite ad of all time.

That is berkeleying brilliant.  I've been taking Ollie to stores that allow him like Tractor Supply and Petco because I feel bad that he spends so much time alone now.  I never thought to use him as a prop.

I don't know the specifics, but you are allowed to ask two questions: Whether the owner is disabled, and what tasks the dog is trained to perform. A "real" service dog handler will answer that second question with ease and without animosity. This was what a blind person told me that I went to college with.

I take Milo to outdoor establishments that allow him, and to the bar down the street - although we haven't been inside since Covid. Supposedly they're finally getting a food license back soon, if that is the case Milo will stay home. Of course, compared to the regular patrons there, Milo is downright antiseptically clean, so that isn't really a good comparison. It is also different as the owner and regular bartender both LOVE Milo and ask where he is when I come in without him.

I'd rather not "need" to carry a pistol anywhere but since that isn't reality I usually carry everywhere.  Unless they have that place legally posted.

I am careful to read the signs on the doors so I know if I must to make a decision to either take my business elsewhere or put my pistol into the vehicle.

I was in a gun shop the other day. Sign on the door said "anyone un-holstering with out permission will be shot".    Its good to always read the signs.

I take my dog to places that are dog friendly in order to get her socialized and used to meeting new people.

This way I'm not one of those owners who has a terrified, quaking little E36 M3 that bites a kid when they run up to pet my dog without asking.

Dogs need social interaction or they end up with weird personalities.

A restaurant I was in a couple years back had a sign that read "Concealed Carry Welcome. Should the need arise, accuracy is greatly appreciated."

That was in a tiny roadside joint in the north Georgia mountains. Made me feel right at home.

I live i Houston,  I go in normal places everyone goes like the grocery, home depot, academy,  drug store. All in "low crime" but not "no crime" areas.  Maybe one carjacking or parking lot robbery every month or so at the combined list of  places I frequent.  I suspect we have vastly different paradigms about what is right and proper..
