Bottom left guy is Nikola Tesla. Bottom guy is Christopher Hitchens. I don't know either woman (is the one on the left Curie?) or the guy above Hitchens, though he looks really familiar...

I wouldn't claim it was a rational or intelligent choice. I can tell you that despite growing up in hick town in northeastern Maryland, I consistently saw one as a kid and it left an impression.
It's the only Lamborghini I want, but damn I want an early Diablo in a bad way.
It's a purely emotional/sentimental thing.
