I won't ask about the "Kommando" part of the theme ...

Agreed, Breaker Morant is a fantastic movie. I highly recommend it.
On a semi-related note, I truly, deeply miss the college-town theatre that I used to spend hours in every week, watching movies like that on the big screen.

Absolutely. One of my favorites too.

;-)
I used to work with a guy that was a (first US) Civil War re-enactor. Really into it with authentic everything. They have some events around here. There were some battles, like Prairie Grove and Pea Ridge (AR).

I did it for ~6-7 years with my dad, then I went to college and never went back. It's a lot of fun. You'd get a kick outta it. This was my old unit.. weird to see this oooolld webpage. http://www.pa69irish.com/
I always wanted to do mountain man/rendezvous type stuff. http://www.crazycrow.com/site/organizer/early-arkansas-reenactors-association/
I've had friends do every major type of reenacting(the commonly done ones in the US) , Rev war, WWI, WWII, and Civil. It gets in your blood. I may go back when I'm older with some spare time.
I need another hobby like I need another hole in my head, Iggy. That's cool that there's an Arkansan one. The state runs a park at the blacksmith's place that made Jim Bowie's knife. For a small fee, they teach and let you make a knife there.
You've seen the movie _The Mountain Men_? Brian Keith and Charlton Heston. Great movie. One summer after Sturgis we rode our bikes through that whole area in the movie. Popo Agie, Wind River Range, Yeller Stone, etc.
In reply to Dr. Hess :
Roger about needing another hobby. But you should attend some events. It’s fun and the admission price is small.
I need to check out that movie.
A friend in Cape Town sent me this FB link:
It's Boer War pics colorized. Man that guy is good. Anyway, of all the pics, I think I have seen maybe 2 on the internet in my google-fu searches. Lots of small ring Mausers in there, and others including a Krag. Seems the US sent 100 Krags to them.
BTW, my friend said car washing is out of the question. They have to carefully manage flushing the toilet.
