Monday update: Lot's of coughing overnight, but it feels like my chest is loosening up. Temp 99.4 this morning, but I don't feel too bad. This is now 7 days in. The good news is that I am not getting any sicker.

This is exactly how mine progressed as well.  99.4 is NOT a fever, FYI.  Just want to clarify tht the CDC consitutes a fever as anything 100.3 for Covid-related purposes.

It would be for me.

My normal temp is roughly 94.5

In reply to Antihero (Forum Supporter) :

On our thermo I am a consistent 96.2. So a temp of 99-100 is a bit higher for me.

Day 2 back to work. Hoping I make it all day today. Left 2 hours early because I was so weak.

I forgot to say, this is also the best news I've heard all week. I'm sorry that you're still weak, but you are alive and I'm happy that you are! Pulling for you and your family's full recovery!

In reply to Javelin (Forum Supporter) :

there was no doubt. We're not high risk categories, one of us already had it once. It's not an automatic death sentence.

Wednesday AM: Temp normal, still coughing and bringing up a ton of mucous. Feeling somewhat better and not as weak. Slow but steady progress.

Glad you are getting better.  Last year in September (pre vaccine) I was down for a whole month with all of the less serious symptoms.  That may have been the worst I've ever felt in my life.

This is going to sound a bit strange, but when I was younger I struggled with allergies and chest congestion like crazy. So I started laying upside down off the side of the couch or my bed, so my coughing was no longer fighting gravity to get that stuff out of my lungs.

It works great, but you definitely end up with some nasty crud making it's self present.

Progress is good. Hacking up stuff sucks, but better out than in.

Found out that a friend who I work with, and has lunch with yesterday tested positive this morning.  Like me, he was fully Pfizer vaccinated in April.  Hoping for the best for his recovery, and no transfer of it to me.  Guess I am working from home for a while either way.

I bet you'll be OK. I was sleeping in the same bed as my fiance until she tested positive and I never caught it.

Thursday update: Temp normal, still coughing, but chest is not as tight. I never knew my body could produce this much mucous. I will still isolate for a couple of more days, but I think this is pretty much the end of it. I need to get back out and seeing customers.

The mucus thing is weird for me  - I had "unknown flu" in early Feb 2020 - worst I have felt in a long time.  Lotta mucus, lotta colors.  Took about 3 weeks to get rid of and I am normally a healthy dude.  Never lost taste and smell but had a bad fever, you name it.  Got the rona officially in August 2020.  Scratchy throat, fever up at 100.x for about half a day, really tired for a week, lost smell but never lost taste.  Got my jabby jab in March 2021 and been rocking and rolling ever since - back to the good ol days.  Tons of travel, work in the office.  Taverns, trips, dinners out.  Getting my booster on Sunday in prep for a bunch more travel.

yup.  It is astounding honestly.  That phase lasted a solid 2 weeks.  Just coughing and blowing stuff out for the first half of the day.  Honestly, about a month later, my ears are still draining!

That was the worst I've ever felt in my entire life.

At one point I told the good Lord to wrap it up as I felt done with it all.

I fixed it to reflect me.

Feeling normal here so far ... my booster shots is scheduled for tomorrow (scheduled weeks ago), so ???
Friend is feeling generally ok, and got the "infusion" today, so sounds like he'll recover just fine.  Fortunately, his wife and son both continue to test negative.

I just got my booster yesterday and this knocked me down worse than anything.  Went from feeling tip top Sunday morning, got my jab at 10AM, rode my mountain bike at 2PM on an easy trail and was sucking wind the whole time and off the back.  45 minutes later I practically needed to lay down along the trail I felt so bad.  Called the ride short and got my sorry ass back into my car and went home.

Today still winded climbing stairs (i have 4 flights of stairs to my desk, take them 10x a day typically but today on the elevator), super tired, sore arm,  just general yuck like the tail end of a cold.

Gonna try to ride my MTB again on Weds, hope this lack of fitness was just a temporary bump and not sticking around long term.

I got the booster since I have  two vacations coming up and I dont want to have any issues.  Didnt get knocked down like this on the regular jabs.

This is the part that annoyed me the most. I am still coughing light stuff up.

Booster was a lot worse for me than either vacc. I received it last Monday.   It didn't hit me 'till about 12 hours later, but then it knocked me out for over two days.  Plenty of rest seemed to help.

This has been super interesting to me, the extremely varied reactions to the different shots. My wife had basically 4 hours total of feeling lousy from the 2nd jab, but was out for about 24 hours after the booster. I was out for 24 hours of just being exhausted after the second jab; the booster made me slightly tired but I basically just went to bed earlier than normal (also got the flu shot at the same time). My parents had a full dose booster (oops - it was a rogue pharmacist who misunderstood the approvals) and Mom got knocked out after having no reaction to the first jabs. Dad got knocked out after the 2nd, but no impact from the 3rd. EDIT: All original and booster jabs described here were Moderna.

In other news, my FIL just had knee surgery. It was at the sister hospital to the one my wife works at. She visited, and was shocked - there were no nurses anywhere. The surgical floor was basically deserted. My wife asked one where everybody was, and was told "they're all on the Covid floor, probably on their 80th hour of overtime for the month. Half of the nurses are leaving, they can't handle it anymore".

I'm assuming there was signifcant hyperbole there on both my wife's part and the nurses part, but still, a scary thought.

I'm curious if your booster was the current Moderna batch (regardless of what your initial vaccination was).
