You're making this way too difficult, people are mostly infected during one of the big waves involving one dominant variant of concern which are fairly spread out.  I don't need to comb through medical journals to know that when I got sick in early September 2022 it was Omicron.

Genomic sequencing of the DNA amplified by a PCR test is used to determine a variant, it takes about 10 days so we're not doing this so your doctor can say "Congratulations, that covid you had a week ago was XBB 1.16.11". You're not going to do anything with that sort of information.

I have personally read some but not all of the OSHA respirator standards, but given that my wife is a scientist who worked in toxicity testing labs for the better part of 40 years, I believe I have a better-than-average understanding of respirator types and protocols.  Yes, she has had the fittings and the training and the testing.  Yes, she wore respirators daily when she was in the lab.  I have a couple nifty respirators she has brought me and taught me how to use properly.  Yes, I know what the 95 means.

I harbored no illusions that a disposable mask or even an N95 was COVID-proof.

But I know for damn sure EVEN A DISPOSABLE MASK WAS BETTER THAN NOTHING, AND JUST WASN'T THAT HARD TO WEAR FOR 99.9% OF THE POPULATION unless they wanted to get all butthurt about being told to do something.

I know you're proud of your special deep-cut understanding of how the world works, but you have a huge blind spot when it comes to interacting with other people as if they are sentient adults.  Since you know everything about everything, why bother dealing with us mere mortals at all?

Asking for factual data is being to difficult because you can't provide it?  Do you know what the inventor of the PCR test said about using it for COVID?  Also a PCR test does not do viral sequencing.  It takes low levels of viral material and amplifies it to detectable levels.  It cannot distinguish between any coronavirus including the flu or a cold.  
 

FYI, PCR defined "molecular photocopying."  It does not do sequencing.

So are you admitting your determination you had any particular strain was based on the news of the day and not any actual medical test?  It is based purely on "at that time?"

You may be surprised at how difficult it is to find good data to back that statement up. As a side note my wife is also a scientist

That's the funny thing about the scientific method, you have to provide the data and it has to stand up under scrutiny.  I don't really care who is a scientist, provide the data and follow the process.  Documentation, please.

He didn't say it was 99.9% effective, he said it wasn't hard for 99.9% of the population to wear a mask.

As I pointed out in the Russian thread, he claims to have all the info, but never shares it. I suspect it's because he doesn't actually have it. He's just an impotent troll.
