I'm not a big FB user, but am trying to sell some stuff on Marketplace. The computer I use most of the time has suddenly, in the last few days, lost the sidebar menu(s).

The computer on the left is what it normally looks like, the computer on the right is what it has changed to. My main 'feed' is the same way. The menu on both sides is gone on this computer. It's just the center 'feed' itself. I have not yet figured out how to manage my sale items anymore from this computer, and I'm also unable to search with anything other than the physical search bar. I've closed and reopened, logged out/in, cleared cache, and looked for menus that I didn't change. All to no avail. That's the extent of what I can find for recommendations from the internet. Anybody have any other ideas or suggestions?

Have you tried a different browser? That's all I've got.

Some obscure Facebook menu setting?

Did you get rid of any fb-related cookies while clearing the cache?

Same type of browser (Firefox, chrome) in both instances? I mean, any should work, just looking for differences. It makes my head explode when I have issues with a site on Firefox and "support" tells me to try Chrome...

I have run into the same issue with my old Chromebook.  While I haven't found a cure yet, you can access your listings by turning on "Seller Mode" from the dropdown menu on the left.

Thanks for the thoughts... But it randomly came back today.

...And it's gone again.

Regarding the questions:

I have not tried Firefox yet, since that doesn't change that FB should work on Chrome but isn't here.

No menu settings that I can find any info on do this.

The deletion covered all browsing history, cookies, and cache.

Both shown in Chrome.

Thanks for the heads up on the 'seller mode' option. Between that and and the search function resetting the other search filters, I guess I don't really need the sidebars for anything in particular... But it irritates me to no end when I can't figure out why something isn't working the way it very obviously should.

Same version of chrome on both? Chrome might need an update on the broken one.

In reply to Steve_Jones :

Good thought, and probably the most likely candidate at this point... But is also entirely un-verifiable. You are correct in reminding me that this Chromebook has passed it's designed obsolescence point, and is no longer receiving Chrome updates.  So it's on something like V93, while the black one is more like V115.

Of course, FB is back to displaying 'normal' again tonight, which still doesn't make any sense to me.

Now mine is doing the same thing today. No sidebars.

No updates. No clearing of any cookies. It just started.
