Gene Hackman, his wife Betsy Arakawa, and their dog were found dead in their home yesterday. No foul play suspected.
Carbon monoxide leak?

Damn shame. He was great in so many things across a ridiculously long career. Going peacefully after a successful life at 95, you could do worse.
Do we still subscribe the Caine-Hackman theory? The theory, that on television, at any and all parts of the day, there is a Gene Hackman or Michael Caine movie playing.
Gene, his wife and the dog? Time for some air samples ....
Can't tell you how many times I've watched The Replacements!
This one stings a bit, The Replacements, Crimson Tide, Get Shorty, Mississippi Burning, Hoosiers, The Firm, French Connection...the list goes on. I just installed new CO2 detectors in one of my rentals. The existing ones were working, but over 10 years old. I feel better about insisting on them now.

In today's world, gotta be. Even if you count the amount of streaming there is, the proliferation of channels on traditional outlets, and the specialization within those channels all but guarantees it.

The Conversation, Unforgiven, The Quick and the Dead, and he'll always be my Lex Luthor. Quite simply one of the best to ever do it.

What an era to be racing - JLP Racing John Paul Junior and Senior, the Whittington brothers, Randy Lanier came in 2nd place........I imagine those hotel bar parties were legendary.
I always wanted a GPS with a Gene Hackman voice assistant because I don't know anyone else I'd trust more to get me somewhere. Dude was a legend and by all accounts a good guy.
Perhaps a good reason to check your carbon monoxide detectors? That’s how Vitas Gerulaitis passed as well.

Pigman is watching A Bridge Too Far, in case you were wondering. Caine and Hackman...in the same movie.
So sad. You don't think about how vast and varied his roles were. Truly great actor. I'll be old for a minute and say "they don't make them like that anymore."

shower sceeeeeeene.....
AP News story early said no signs of a gas leak........but wouldn't CO2 require some type of combustion? Like a malfuntioning heater?
And says the wife was found near an open pill bottle with pills scattered everywhere. And two healthy dogs were found on the property. The workers who found them stated the front door was open when they arrived.
When I think of Hackman The Royal Tenenbaums is the first thing that come to mind. I don't think it's his best work but I've watched that movie so many times it's burned into my smooth brain.
Such a strange bit of info that's been leaked so far but half of the information looks to just be objects nearby that may have absolutely nothing to do with the deaths. A space heater? Really?
Now the Santa Fe sheriff's office is calling the deaths "suspicious".
Investigators believe the deaths of actor Gene Hackman and his wife Betsy Arakawa are “suspicious,” according to a search warrant affidavit released Thursday morning.
Yep, rather than a straightforward carbon monoxide buildup incident, this is starting to look more like a mystery for the ages:
