GRM has ruined the internet for me

I can't go on other car forums anymore. GRM ruined the internet for me.

When I go on other car forums, the average post is something like:

random internet guy said: hey guys i want my car to beat my friends civics can i turbo it and also my car shudders when i slow down thanks in advance

Then when I come here, the average post is something like:

GRM guy #1 said: Today I put an ls2 + t56 in my e28 and it cost me $500, I think it will be fun to drive.

Or:

GRM guy #2 said: Yesterday I got in my friends cessna and we flew to some guys house, he sold me a 4x4 Astro. Today I lifted it 4" and put 34" tires on it and now I can defeat hoards of zombies and 12 foot snow banks. I think it will be fun to drive.

GRM you have ruined the internet for me, and I am very thankful.

The deadly combination of GRM and Tumblr have ruined the rest of the internet for me. I don't think any of it exists anymore. Isn't all internet either GRM, Tumblr, or Porn?

Tis truth. I use to register at other sites to ask specific questions but with the depth and breath of knowledge here thats stopped.

Just wish the search function..... functioned.

Meh, learn me threads are easy enough until then.

Heh, my visits to other car forums seem to be mostly restricted to their classified ads section for parts. At least over here you get decent grown up answers. Well, most of the time .

I post above in jest because that style of answer is clearly what you will not get here at GRM and anyone who does give that answer will be run out of town.

I know.. I used to frequent a lot of boards before this.. now not so much. I hit a couple of model specific ones.. but not for much

Refer to previous post. Ahh, I remember when I was an uberdork! Those were simpler times.

One of the many things like here is that there isn't one person who knows mechanical things or has had experience with a certain type of car, there are several people.

I still frequent some of the old boards, but the time spent is vastly different then before GRM. I don't think we are going to be talking about 2.3T or V8 Rangers on this board very often or drag racing setups/parts/knowledge like on Rangerpowersports or Yellowbullet respectively.

I used to get most of my news from Jon Stewart and NPR. Now it's GRM and NPR, but mostly GRM. If it's worth knowing it will be here.

as for 2.3t and v8 ranger... you can get enough info here to get started and pointed to more detailed info...

for general all knowledgeable stuff I like it here... when I need more detailed accounts of certian things the car specific forum is helpful... but I NEVER bother with OT in the other forums... we've got a real good one here :) and we don't get the grammar nazis either...

Exactly! I generally don't bother with any other news source, except the local coffee drinkers for our local news.

Here, we raise some cash and organize a big effort, in other forums, people find out your IP address and spam you with viagra ads until your hard drive melts.
