I'll say the most cliché thing ever....but there is something better. I'm old, SWMBO and I have been very poor with no job with a tiny baby (that now easy beats me autocrossing) But things work out. Hang in there man.
I'm patiently awaiting the job posting for a professional autocrosser and hack AMC mechanic that pays $100K a year.

This, 100%. I left a management job 3-ish years ago making $50k+ a year that was hell for a job making $12 an hour to deliver food to convention rooms and clean dishes. Best decision I ever made. In the middle of last year, I worked at a boring office job I hated where I could've expanded into the company my dad's worked for 25 years and made triple digits pretty easily when I finished my degree. I bailed to work at Lowe's, second best decision I ever made. I love it here and make decent enough money to get me by until I'm done with school. I don't even feel like it's 'work' or a 'job' but instead I get paid to hang out at Lowe's and assist people in hacking up their plumbing.

That area has tons of job though. Get into Merck.
Merck just had some sizable layoffs themselves so i'm not sure if I want to pursue that. It would be ideal location wise (10 minutes down the road) but situation at company is not good.
