This thread has legs. I looked at two GMC's and an admittedly raggedy travco and could not bring myself to make the jump. The GMC was just too small inside and the Travco drove like being inside a can of pebbles rolling down a hill. Margie was right. I thought I might as well fix the fossil's failings and stop worrying about the size. More to come about that in the repower thread.
Not being familiar with the Fossil"s pedigree, I assume it has the Cat 3208 w/Allison 4 speed. Looking fwd. to a re-power thread!
