I got these because I wanted one, I can't tell based on looking around if they're worth anything. Some sites have them quite expensive and some seem to sell them for scrap. Is there a right way to do this? It's okay if they're not worth anything, but I don't want to leave anything on the table.

I'd say head to Vegas, and have Rick call Rebecca.

I had decent luck on eBay - or at least you can get a good gauge on pricing.

That's not going to happen, but I do like Rebecca.

AbeBooks.com has a pretty good search feature.  I'm not sure how their price data tracks with completed sales.

I think all of use have piles of old books / magazines  that we like to "save"  and keep out of the dump.

I have taken piles of 1960s-70s Road and tracks to the swap meet and tried to get $1 each and its slow going ,

one tip is use can use Media mail rate for shipping with USPS ,

My mother left me a bunch of piano music books, dating back to the 1890s.  I spent a lot of time researching this and learned the market for old books is pretty tight.  If it is worth something they will hide it and try to buy it cheap.  You can see what others have sold these for thanks to the internet or try for an appraisal but don't expect much.
