That's really good news, here's hoping the rehab session goes well! Probably gonna little be a while before he's rattling your fillings with his bass but a big step towards that for sure.

I actually have a u-bass coming to drop off for him. It might not knock down walls but it's small enough to play in a hospital bed

Got the U Bass and....it sounds way better than it should. Very impressed
Sadly though my dad had to be moved back to the normal hospital today because of some buildup of fluids. They say it isn't terrible and it's more precaution than anything though

Figured I'd do another update.
My dad has been doing great at the rehab place. They are literally not using the trach at all anymore and might be removing it today!
He can now eat normal food and they expect him to be coming home in the middle of next week.
I saw him this weekend and was stunned by home much he's improved
