20 years ago (almost to today) my wife and I missed the Pope on hour honeymoon in Italy as he was in the US.
Thankfully, on our return trip, he was still in Rome on 9/13, so we saw him before coming to the US.
Funny that the Pope traveled to the US in late Sept both times we were in Rome.
