I'm fine with the towing for the reasons above. This wouldn't be something to drag other cars around with, but rather a utility trailer or small camper. That seems to be what it exists for.

I just want them to come out so I can sit it and crawl around a two door. The manual two door big tire version is a VERY unique car in the day and age. I'm intrigued.

......... it meets or exceeds the Wrangler's towing capacity of 2000 lb for the 2 door, 3500lb for the 4 door so I don't think it will hurt sales much. The new Land Rover Defender has roughly the same wheelbase as the Bronco and can tow 7000+ lb, but its also 6 inches wider and a lot more expensive........

This may also have something to do with the US attitude that you need an F350 Super Frutie Dulley if you want to tow a 4x8 utility trailer, so manufacturers assume nobody worries about tow ratings for real vehicles.  I'm massively disappointed as although Ford downsized me I've been a huge proponent of the Bronco since the start.  I always assumed that it would have the same rating as the Ranger.

The build and price is scheduled to be up on Friday, 23 October.

However, Ford has stated that they will not be accepting the X-Plan on the 2 and 4 door Broncos:

  • Due to unprecedented demand and limited supply Bronco two- and four- door will NOT be eligible for X-plan in 21MY.  This is similar to other limited supply vehicles like F150 Raptor, Mustang Shelby

September 18th was the cutoff for reservations for the 2021MY. I reserved mine 12OCT so it will be a 2022MY. Nobody knows right now if the 2022s will be eligible for the X-Plan.

I was hoping that this wouldn't turn into another E36 M3show like the Explorer launch but my confidence in waning.

Yea I canceled my reservation a month or 2 ago.  Its looking like a crapshow of a launch.

Sounds like if you want one, waiting a year is a good plan.

Have you seen anything saying it's going badley, or is it an assumption?

Waiting a couple years is always a good idea on a new car that's hot.  First off you don't get hosed on the price, I'm sure these first ones will be selling for over MSRP.  Secondly you let everyone else be the guinea pigs and make sure everything works properly.

I've bought a first model year car before and I'm never, ever doing it again.  Too many issues, I'd much rather wait a few years and let the manufacturer and the aftermarket identify and address the problems.

launch of the Explorer and F150. Explorer had no build and price before launch, F150's was a week before ordering.  Already testing a Raptor version, Pulling X plan. You might not get yours very soon depending on how large your dealer is and how many reservations they have. Only 50% of dealers reservations are guaranteed to be filled soon, the other 50% depends on how many reservations your dealer has and how much volume they do.

Im mostly tired of the dealership game playing.  At this point im just going to buy newer cars from Carvana or Vroom

I'm pretty down on Ford since the block cracked on my wife's 2017 Ford Edge.

Apparently an acknowledged defect.  I got the CEL error code report from the dealer.  Ford's database advised that with that error code it means the block was cracked and a new engine should be installed.

It was right out of warranty so it would be $8500 out of pocket.   I will add that after some give and take with Ford they did give me an engine for "customer relations" purposes, emphatically stating they were not doing it for a warranty reason.   So I only paid labor.

And the dealer broke my air conditioner compressor so I had to buy one of those as well since they obviously don't make mistakes like that.       I found out later from my brother, who is a senior multi-certified automobile technician,  that some of the newer hi-pressure systems can't handle a full drain and refill of the freon; (screws up the seals for some reason).  Which is what they do during an engine exchange.

Build and price was promised "before October". When making reservations, you could only change your dealer once and that deadline was Oct 31st. Ford changed the deadline to Jan 31st and made it to where you could change dealers twice before that deadline.

Since there are so many reservations, if you made your reservation after September 18th, your Bronco will be a 2022MY. If you made it before the 18th, its a 2021MY. Ford has stated that due to "unexpected" demand, some vehicles won't be delivered until 2022.

Ford has yet to clarify if they are going to require an additional deposit of at least $500 at the time of ordering. Most of the large dealerships have stated that unless Ford requires them to collect an additional deposit, the $100 reservation deposit is all that is needed.

Its been a mess so far. I'm hopeful that they will get the ordering process ironed out before mine gets ordered.

Or... we could just wait a bit until it's widely available, had the bugs worked out (with the purchase process and the manufacturing), and avoid any early adopter price mark ups from dealers?

Build and price is live. The Sasquatch package is $4,995, which is about what was expected. I checked earlier today when I woke up at 4am and the site worked fine but now I'm getting lots of timeout errors.

Looks like the Configurator has crashed the entire Ford site. It won't even pull up on Chrome or Firefox now.

~8:34 am CST.

Confirmed on https://www.isitdownrightnow.com/ford.com.html

It's up at the moment.

The base with the Sasquatch package is $42k. As cool as that would be, it ain't happening. I'll stick with the XJ.

Yeah, for the real Bronco, not the Sport, the Trim and package with a few options/accessories was $48-49k.

Absolutely not happening, especially since it would be my ladies vehicle. I told her in a few years maybe we can pick up a used one. Or maybe one of us will get a huge raise or promotion.

This is like the "Why would you buy X car for Y much, when I buy Z car and spend 1/3 of Y and be faster around the track?"

Those hose are pretty rad though!

Built a couple, they were all $54-57k.  That's a lot to pay for a SUV that doesn't have a leather interior and I can't get the motor/trans combo I want (2.7 with the manual).

Something weird going on with the pricing.  Base model with only the Sasquatch package added has $5790 in options, but in the summary the Sasquatch package is $4995 and there are no additional options so the total price for options should be $4995 not $5790.  Hidden $795 fee somewhere or the website can't do math....

The Sasquatch package automatically adds the advanced 4x4 option, that's the bump.

Thanks for the explanation. I figured it was something that was being added, but they ought to identify it somewhere.  I did not see it in the description of the Sasquatch package and there were no other options shown in the summary listing.  Just the $4995 for the Sasquatch and then the options total is $5790 below that.  Not very transparent.

It is a lot of money... but here's the competition, so it's not out of line IMO. I didn't even go crazy with the accessories.
