Working on the Cobra. It has surprisingly massive mold lines on the body I had to work on. I'm also looking at the photo etch emblems and latches and wondering how I'm ever going to install them without dropping them on the carpet where they will enter an alternative universe.

Don't work on carpet! Besides I spill paint occasionally.....Wear a chef's bib fastened to the edge of your work bench when handling the tiny stuff. Also use clear parts glue to hold the emblems on.

Oh yes we have no bananas, we have no bananas today....Or any day actually, I don't eat them. We do have something to scale it though. It is 1/32, so not real tiny. It is building so quickly that I am contemplating also doing a 1/43 Lancia 037 by Racing43, which has full  engine detail because it shows through the rear window.surprise

This Tomy kit is one of the easiest I have ever experienced. Everything fits, as in a miracle....I am adding no extras either, just what came in the box.

I got started last night on my first Japanese truck, a 1/32 scale Hino. I'm going to try making my own decals and end up with a Mr Sparkle Dekotara truck.

No fair, you have Engrish instructions. The Tomy kit has only Japanese. What brand kit?

To shrink things a little more I am starting this kit while I wait for the body paint to harden on the SS100. Racing43 white metal Lancia 037 in "Totip" livery if the decals are still good. I bought the kit in 1995 from a neat little shop in Bologna, so they may be aged out. Totip is the Italian lottery....Bilingual instructions, English & Italian, that seem very good, and the castings appear  excellent. We'll see......

Still waiting for the F40 to arrive. I've decided fly yellow for the exterior.

It's an Aoshima kit.  It's got a lot of chrome and tiny lights and more mold release than I've ever seen. I hope I got it clean enough to paint.

The 037 is kinda big for your scale slot cars. I have a nice one by Fly in 1/32 that I run occasionally. To shrink it to 1/67 for your slots I think you'd have to distort it vertically to fit the motor. Photo of real one across from my house to se how low they are. See how little there is above the tires? Those are 16" wheels.

Ugh on the mold release. I have had some disasters recently on that account.

I finally opened mine up:

I assembled the motor plate:

Then flipped it over and did the shoes and tires:

That took care of the chassis so it was time to start the body. It has some nasty mold lines:

I took care of all of those and popped the heat rivets on the glass to get it out. Now I'm ready for primer and paint tomorrow.

Mold Release sounds like the name of a grunge-punk band or something.

I got the suspension assembled, but not without drama; some of the parts are a press fit, and the right front bent and collapsed when I tried to push it into place, necessitating repairs. Meanwhile, the left front has some positive camber that I'm afraid to fix, for fear of breaking it in the same way.
