There was a segment on 60 minutes called "What would you do?" that had some actors playing as an interracial couple(black guy/white girl) and the father, also an actor, of the girl was going off on them. This was all in an attempt to see how others would react. There was an older couple sitting near them, listening to the whole thing. When the interracial couple left and the father was still sitting there, the older lady lend over and told the father, "your doing the right thing, why would she ever pick that thing".

When the host of the show came out, who is hispanic, she said he would be fine because he is white since he is not black.

I make sure that mile was littered with road kill, dead fish, and E36 M3 filled diapers.

DOT killed it. Lawsuits will ensue, and the program will die, which makes me happy. Meanwhile, nothing's stopping anyone from picking up other people's trash on the highway. You just won't get berkeleying cookie for doing so. After hearing this "LIBARTEREEYANS DON'T WANT ROOOOOADS" nonsense, I'm happy to get rid of the stupid signs and go back to paying 10 cents more on my water bill for illegal aliens to pick up cigarette buts and cans of natty light. And by "pick up," I mean "Run over with the mower."

It's a cute fluff piece. Nobody up here cares, just like nobody in dick-hater cares that Cynthia "caught delivering supplies to terrorists" McKinney and her "Green Party" have a stretch of 285 dedicated to her.

Ya know, the funny thing about all this: my dirt bike club in Charleston once looked into adopting a stretch of road. You would not believe the red tape. After looking over and discussing the rules and the application (!) we decided it just wasn't worth it. The SCDHPT dictates WHEN you can do it, among other things.

He has a point.......but for the most part, its incorrect. The KKK didn't do much good and mainly bad, whereas the NAACP does mostly good and also bad(see affirmitive action, etc)

And as posted in reply to myself earlier, yes both sides are too ignorant and set in their ways to change.

The biggest difference between the KKK and the NAACP is in the order of magnitude, as in the Klukkers had no qualms about lynching people and AFAIK the NAACP never has.

Otherwise, both organizations thrive on racial discontent; if that goes away so does their reason for being and thus their income. Stirring up crap keeps the money coming in. So in that sense yeah there ain't a helluva lot of difference.

I personally would like to see both groups just go 'poof' and disappear, this would leave a much better country. But naw it ain't gonna happen.

The KKK has the right to freedom of speech. They should be allowed to adopt that mile of highway.

I, too, have freedom of speech, and will use it to denounce the worst domestic terrorist group in the history of the United States of America.

They left a trail of blood and burned crosses across the country, carried out brutal public murders for decades, and intimidated both private citizens and public agencies into denying the basic human and civil rights to black American citizens for two generations and a war longer than they otherwise would have. No other organization, aside from perhaps the despicable Confederate States of America from which they sprung, had such a negative effect on American society. To discuss this disgusting group without acknowledging that this campaign of terror is their reason for being is an insult to those who stood up against them.

If bringing this group back out into the sunlight allows us to disinfect the country of their vile, oozing pus, then I am all for it.

I have no use for either group.

If the government can't say no to the KKk and beat them in a lawsuit then that says LOTS about the credibility of the government. Next up the Taliban starts a charter school.

It's not the government's place to do this. If the Taliban (or any other splinter group) starts a school hiding behind the guise of 'religion', well they are guaranteed protection, or at least to be left alone, in the eyes of the law. That's why I can be an atheist and fear no prosecution for that. It's only once they step out and begin unlawful terrorist activities that they are subject to criminal prosecution.

This is both our greatest strength and greatest weakness. I see no way to change it without kicking out one of the greatest pillars of this society.

I guess having a history of murder and arson is acceptable nowadays. I figured they were relegated to gang status. Boy, was I wrong. When the NAACP hangs a castrated person from a tree then they can be considered equal to the KKK. Other than that they are FAR from equals.
