Kickass! I know the feeling!
I started a new job on Monday and so far I really like it. Money's better, town is pretty, and the work is similar enough to my last job that I'm not completely lost, technically speaking. Geographically however...
I was at the last place for ~12.5 years. I hope I'm here at least as long.

tell us when you can ... (does it have anything to do with bad things happening to a former supervisor ? )

No, but it's better.
leaves me conflicted ... first response is "too bad", then realize you said even better, and the response becomes YEA ...
keep us up to date
for myself .... I'll find out Sat (probably) if I've got a seat for the VIR ChumpCar race next weekend ... surely hope so (it'll be my first w2w)
This one's going in the rant thread and here:
Left the euro shop today (not the way I would have liked to but I was gone either way, this way just sucks because I backed a swallowtail mk1 with a vr6 into a pole it hurt my heart to see the cleanest mk1 I've ever seen, with a 100 hour ticket (almost finished) damaged like that.
The good side is the stress is over! No more owner breathing down my neck making me so stressed that I couldn't even sleep at night!
I find out Monday hopefully if I can start at a huge Nissan dealership about 8 miles away, and I'll also be finding out if I can move forward on working for a Jaguar Dealership (42 bays/4 technicians, ridiculously good pay, awesome people, M-F schedule, F-Type, etc)
If both of these work out, I don't know what I'll do...
Oh, and thanks to someone on the forum mentioning it I'm going to be doing clickworker to make a little cash for now
I'm thankful to be going back to school starting Tuesday, and grateful that my family has offered to help me out if my workplace decides to drop me for it.

bewb jerb?
Don't need any upgrades in that area.
OK, so today I gave my 2 weeks, so I can officially spill the beans. I am moving on to a brand new bike shop that is opening up in Wake Forest. Yes, it is on the other side of town, but once you are already commuting an hour to work, what's another 20 minutes?
I will be managing this shop, and we will be starting small, with just the owner, myself and a Service Manager. Bonus is, I will be making more money than I did before the accident ( a year and a half ago) once commission is factored in.
And I never have to deal with PETER again. PETER is code for GM dickface.
I am stoked!

hells yeah!!
congrats for sure!
I don't think he knows yet. I spoke with the owner directly this morning, bypassing him entirely.
This just feels great, I have been very loyal over the last 20 years, long before the GM came about, and I left on good terms even though I will be the competition.
Leaving on good terms is important to me because I don't want my team to feel like they have to choose their allegiance to the owner vs. me, I love my guys and I couldn't do that to them. I have already told them that I will miss working with them, and they have all expressed in their own way the same. It is tough leaving a team that works so well together and supports each other in all aspects of the job of "getting E36 M3 done".
My wife just got offered a job at the school where our 3 and 5 year old kids will be going. When our oldest was born, 10 years ago, she decided to work from home so she could be with the kids. She has been very active in the school, PTO VP and a bunch of other stuff and really liked the atmosphere there. We found out two weeks ago that one of the front office people at the school was moving to a different school and that the other person was retiring and all of the staff told her to apply. She did and got a call today offering her a job.
It is nice when things just plain work out. She was ready to get out of the house again and now she had a job with the School District at a place where she feels at home. Its been a good day.
hung out with the wife today, watched the Evil Dead remake, right when the movie ended I got a call from the Service Manager at East Charlotte Nissan to come down and meet with my possible future Team Leader at the dealership.
Gonna go run with the Brewery running club with the wife today, and hopefully line up a new job tomorrow.
Now all I need is for my stupid payroll check to arrive that shouldn't have been mailed (I had asked him if I could just pick it up and he consented) so I can pay rent
I'm happy to have a house with enough garage and shed space to have a nice shop where I can play with cars. I'm happy to have a job that makes this possible.
I'm very thankful that I have the ability to walk into a store, ask for a job and get hired immediately, and start just 3 days later (drug test), making an almost inordinate amount of money=]
I should finally be able to have internet, a motorcycle, and health insurance!
now I just gotta make it through the next month or so to get caught up!
While I bitch about a lot of my car friends, I am thankful for them. Make a call and I got two dudes with a jack ready to move a car in 15min.
