Problem: my anxiety and adhd are exacerbating each other. I've been unable to find a medication/medication combo that helps for more than a few weeks.

Solution: talk with your psychiatrist

Problem: I cannot find a psychiatrist that is accepting new patients and is accepted by insurance. When I do, they're simply writing prescriptions (I found one I kind of liked, but they were quite simply unaffordable. Literally no room in the budget for them)

Solution: go to therapy instead

Problem: therapists just tell me things I already know and are unhelpful.

Solution: find a new therapist

Problem: I am unable to find a therapist that is accepting new patients and accepting my insurance

Solution: Get new insurance

Problem: yeah, that's either not affordable, or not possible, or worse than I have to deal with now

Why is it this hard? Oh, forgot to mention up there that my last therapist is pretty sure I'm on the autism spectrum. Which would explain quite a bit and makes a lot of sense.

Bought a Roku last week after years of Fire sticks lasting less and less time before some sort of failure(Last one made it three days shy of a year).  I guess logging in to Prime Video with it triggered an algorithm somewhere, because I went onto the Amazon site, and I now have a coupon code for a new Fire stick.  Umm, I'll pass, maybe y'all should start making them better quality.

I'm not rough on my electronics, either.  I have an original XBox, a laptop from 2011, and an iPhone 8 that all still work.

I did - we brought home a V10-powered 35 foot long 2007 Winnebago Sightseer with a king bed in the back, a couple bunks, and two slides.  I think the problem with the jacks is that the control box has failed and, unlike my old one, the whole jack system needs to be able to think about stuff instead of just having buttons to push.  What's up with yours?  If you've got the ones that sort of swing down, I know that it's not unusual for the springs to get weak and cause problems.

In reply to wae :

Yep, mine has the old HWH system with four levers and the swing down jacks. The fronts work fine but the rears just deadhead the pump when the levers are pressed to swing them down and they don't move. I haven't crawled under yet to check out the overall condition of them. I need to do that and possibly have someone operate the controls while I can watch them to see what is happening.

Rant #1:  Those of us that live in river valleys and whatnot and have chronic sinus problems have known ever since the first time we tried it that the Sudafed PE is absolute crap and does not work at all.  Not that it only works a little.  Not that it doesn't work as well as the real stuff.  That it just flat-out does not work at all.  There have been studies that indicate it is no better than placebo.  So I have two questions:  First of all, who keeps buying this stuff that does absolutely nothing because I would like that list of leads to sell things to - those people will buy anything.  Second: How does it take the FDA this long to finally start talking about removing it from the market?  It's crap.  It's always been crap.  It's always gonna be crap.  Oy!

Rant #2:  Well, not really a rant, but a wtf story...  I tried to go into Costco on Sunday and the little scanner beeped and said my card was invalid.  Weird.  So I tried a few more times and nothing so they sent me to the member desk.  She clicky-clackied on the computer for a bit then told me that the card had been reported lost or stolen.  I certainly didn't do that.  It was very unlikely that my wife had done that.  So she went back to the computer for a bit and then looked up at me.  Then looked down at the computer.  Then looked back at me.  We stared at each other for a long moment before she started asking me what my phone number and home address were.  Apparently, the day before, someone had come in and reported a card lost or stolen.  They had then canceled my card and re-issued a new card on my account to this other person.  With a different last name, but the same first name.  And a different photo, physical address, and phone number, but the same email address.  It confused the heck out of the whole staff of the member desk.  In the end they canceled that other card and issued a new one for me.  But how does that happen?  Did they somehow manually type in a card or account number and accidentally bring mine up?  Shouldn't someone have thought "gee, it's weird that we're replacing a card but the guy doesn't look like the picture we have on file and he has a different name, address, and phone number"?

It's been crap since day one.

The good news is you can still get the real deal, at least here in SC. You just have to go to the pharmacy counter, show ID, and sign for it so they can make sure you aren't buying meth quantities.

I've got a search-engine redirect virus in both my home and office that is proving hard to rid myself of. It directs traffic from Chrome to Yahoo which frankly, is a second-class product. One of the many niggling things that bug me is that when I look up a sports game the first information that it shows is the betting line.

I don't care about the betting line! It's no wonder that allegations of fixed games are rampant, when the league and the media have the gambling industry greasing up their buttcheeks.

USPS. They have really annoyed me this year. So far in January one package that should have been a couple days. PA -> CT, except it decided to get routed to Omaha Nebraska first.

And now another package. ID -> CT, this one now has TWO scans in Puerto Rico! Last scan being on November 8th.

What annoys me the most is how the tracking takes forever to acknowledge something off. Like all day yesterday was the expected delivery date. So refreshing it all day just kept saying expected by 9pm. Seriously when the day hits and it's not even within a state or two my location, just change it. And it would be nice if it would say where it's going next so I have an idea of when I might see another update.

You're right.  The PE is useless.  Until I retired, I always told people buying it to save their money and buy psuedoephedrine.

I take the same on-ramp every day for my commute.  It never fails to be stuck behind either a fully loaded concrete truck, other construction equipment, or some person afraid of their own shadow.  So what that means is I travel a 3/4-mile long on ramp going 35mph and have to merge with 70mph interstate traffic putting my life in danger.  Every damn day.

I don't go to Starbucks or any other coffee place on a regular basis and I sure as hell don't pollute my coffee with anything, but for some reason I clicked on a news story announcing that Starbucks was no longer going to be charging extra for non-dairy coffee pollution.  I guess they used to charge $0.80 or so if you wanted to ruin your coffee with something other than just regular milk.  I have no idea, but that's not the point.  A couple paragraphs down, we meet Stephanie Madden who is purported to be a Starbucks Customer who never understood the upcharge.

"I’m very happy because I don't think they should (charge extra),” she said. “I mean it’s milk. Milk is milk. So why do you have to pay extra for a different kind of milk? Just because it's not a cow's milk?"

I don't know if her parents failed her, if it was the schools, or if she just decided that despite all opportunity to the contrary, she decided she was going to live her life as a moron.  So, first of all, if "milk is milk", then why do you care?  Just get regular milk since it's cheaper.  Milk is milk, right?  Oh you don't *like* that milk?  And you think that harvesting, processing, and manufacturing a plant solid into a liquid that somewhat resembles actual milk is going to incur the same costs?

"As a mom with a toddler and yeah, any way I can try to save some money, so grateful,” she said. “I mean, it's a treat just to be able to go get a Starbucks, so it feels a little less guilty."

Good lord, you've bred?  Let's hope it skips a generation.  And you're looking for "any" way to try to save money?  Hmm.  Maybe don't spend six bucks on a cup of coffee you can brew at home for about a nickel?  Or again, if "milk is milk", then maybe the way you save money - you are looking for "any" way, right? - is to not have them put anything but actual milk in your drink.  Did that thought occur to you?

I have to wonder if the author and editor left that in there because they realize how stupid that sounds or if they think that is somehow a representative reflection of reality.

A disturbing number of people in this country think chocolate milk comes from brown cows. 7% of adult Americans in 2017, according to Washington Post, which at the time was just over 16 million, or more people than live in my entire state. What's worse is they are breeding and voting.

So while I would like to be surprised by that article, I can't be.

I'm thinking I'm about done with my Kei truck. Got into a accident yesterday. And the last few times I've driven it has really pissed me off. Other drivers. Get cut off constantly, tailgated, etc. Yes, it's slow on hills, but everywhere else I can go 45-55mph easily. Hills slow me down to 30-35 depending on how steep. Loaded big trucks can be under 30 on some of these roads/hills.

Around my small town things are generally ok, but to pay for registration and insurance for 5-10 minute drives.

I've been thinking about finding an engine swap to do at some point in the future, but have a feeling the perception of other drivers will remain and I'll still get aggressive driving directed towards me.

I don't know if I want to sell it, but may pull the registration and insurance and consider parting out running gear and then making some sort of project out of it. Like GHPC's 6x6 they built, and then just use it around the yard.

Dont really want to share the pictures but I'll say neither of us were injured and both vehicles drove away. It could have been magnitudes worse, mostly for me.

I hate cars.  My "new" car with 21k miles needs tires already.  And in addition to that a brake pad got jammed in the caliper and produced excessive uneven wear so I'm doing brakes tonight! Yay.  In addition, my wife's Kia van is getting inspected today.  Can't wait to hear what all that one needs to pass inspection.

This time of year I just hemorrhage money.  All of my cars are due for inspection, and not matter how hard I try to fix things myself, it's almost always an $800 bill per car.  If it isn't tires, its brakes, if it's neither, something else is shot.  Moving right into Christmas and other activities, I'm typically broke as E36 M3 by February.

It wasn't the only reason, but it was a big chunk of it.  Taking the time to throw on my gear was also a factor, when I realized my Miata was about 90% as fun as riding, required less preparation to go anywhere, and felt way safer.  Still want to grab a scooter as a pit bike, but it is not a high priority.  I'd still like to have a Kei truck, but the regulatory environment towards them in Ohio is not so great.  I'd also be able to restrict my driving to areas it can go the speed limit, and still be useful.
