Today was my eldest's birthday. She wanted to go to the local indoor kart track, so we did and got about 6 or 7 races in along with a half hour of axe throwing. While I am very bad at axe throwing, a good time was had by all!

Excellent work!
My BMI hovers around 39-40, so I am forever on the cusp. I kind of miss lockdown when we were walking every day. I think I was down to 37 or so BMI.
My daughter flew home for the three day weekend. We haven't seen her since we dropped her off at college three months ago. I think we all needed a visit.
In reply to Duke and NYNick and whoever else :
Thanks. It's been a ride. Admittedly not without challenges due to my limited ability to exercise. But- I disliked not being able to reach my own feet so I had to do something.
The motherberkeleyer of it all is, now I gotta buy new clothes. I tried on sizes today (that fit!) That I haven't squeezed what little is left of my ass into since the year started with a 1. (Seriously. I looked in the mirror. I'm beldar from berkeleyin coneheads). I'm not looking forward to it cause I got expensive tastes.
My major win: Queso Kid 1 had a heck of a time with her learnin in pre-school and elementary school. We were worried she had a learning disorder but turns out she didn't. Reading, math, etc. were all behind k-4th grade metrics. This year she went on to "middle school" at 5th grade. My wife and I have noticed a no nonsense approach to her while doing homework, reading and time she spends on her laptop completing assignments. She's laser focused. Today was report card day. She absolutely is crushing it. All her subjects are the highest remarks and a lot of 95/99's on actual grades. Today is a huge win and we're massively proud of her. She will be rewarded accordingly.

Went though the same a few years ago. A new wardrobe is well earned, enjoy it.
In reply to Scotty Con Queso :
That's awesome! I'm glad she's applying herself and seeing results. Great work from everybody!
Even better. Went to a Mexican restaurant to celebrate great report cards. Ate well and the kids all got a desert. Go to pay and the server said our bill was taken care of by another guest. What??? Serious? There was a guy sitting behind us eating alone and must have overheard us say why we were there. Whoever you are, thank you so much.
Driving a 2016 Shelby GT350 today. Nice car. It draws a bit more attention than you'd expect to get in a "Mustang." Hard to believe the redline on this "hand-built" engine is 8250 RPM. Brakes are supernatural. Seats are comfy. Shifter and clutch make for some quick gear changes. Only quibble would be steering feel, but it might need an alignment--it's got a whopping 22k miles on it. She surely does sing a sweet song, though.

Congrats! I've lost a lot of weight and kept it off and I've found the trick is to keep tracking your food intake after you hit your goal for a while, just aim to maintain your weight. It's really easy to rebound if you just stop tracking entirely

Yeah, I'm reasonably sure that's a permanent thing for me now. I look at it as an addiction issue- once you have that, you can't really un-have it. Once you addicted to buckets of fried chicken, that's always a problem. So, I can't ever not be attentive again. That's just how it is. I probably should have paid more attention after my other thing a few years ago, but I wasn't ready then, apparently.

I don't track my calories 100% of the time now, but I do track my weight and occasionally sanity check my food intake once or twice a month. I think that's probably how it will stay and I'm fine with it
I'm the garage today got somewhere between figured out and tired out and got the right idea to get my transmission tunnel started. Partially rolling and feeling pretty good. It's always nice to use the sheet metal brake too, as research as I use it.
My wife did a little vintage shopping while on a short getaway with her sister and brought me back a neat thing!

I've kept most of the 40 pounds I lost off for 15 months by continuing to pay the weight watchers bill every month. I'm responsible for every delicious morsel I shove down my gullet.
I also weigh myself once a week and write it on the calendar. It's way easier to lose 5 pounds than 45...
I found a used 10x16 shed at a place literally 5 minutes down the road from me. It was a rent to own repo. Almost new and just a bit dirty inside. The price was too good to pass up even though the dark grey color isn't my favorite.
I showed it to my wife she agreed that we'd be crazy to pass it up. We're buying it tommow and pretty soon I'll have my garage free of all sorts of non automotive stuff.
As an added bonus, I sold my old Lawn Boy mower on Facebook marketplace today. Cash, full asking price. Less stuff for the shed. More money in my pocket.
Ran my first official half marathon today (did a few of that distance in training). Despite the course being more hills than planned I beat my training pace by about 1:00 per mile

A week ago I stopped in at a white castle drive through for a large black coffee. I was handed a medium and charged for a large. I asked three times if what they were handing me was a large and all three times they confirmed it was.
I complained via their website and got an apology letter with a $10 gift card in the mail today.
Say what you will about the mouse, but man they have their E36 M3 together sometimes.
Had a script my local walgreens was having difficulty getting filled. I had PREVIOUSLY been getting it filled at the secret mouse walgreens (the mouse has a walgreens. TWO actually) but that's far. I can walk to the new walgreens. Got stupid frustrated. SWMBO happened to be at the mouse doctor attached to the mouse walgreens for an unrelated issue and asked if I needed anything OTC ( as they have fantastic pricing on stuff there as well).
I asked her if they could rush job my script for me out of just.... angst.
They had it done in 10min what berkeleyin Longwood walgreens couldn't do in a MONTH.

Am I the only one who looks at sheds at the lot/Lowe's/Home Depot etc like I don't already have a perfectly good shed at home already? Why am I like this?
