I seem to have a bad case of both. Once I have a vehicle, I find it impossible to part with that vehicle. Case in point, the yard art, aka my F250. I had to go out and move it away from the creek, given the flash flood watch tonight. Just in moving it around the yard is a PITA. It doesn't want to start anymore, I think the starter is finally going, going, and gone is $250. Then all the broken stuff on it, all nickle and dime crap that I just haven't put on yet or need to go somewhere to fix. If I did finally sell it, I would buy something that isn't half of what I sold.
Thanks for reading this crappy conflicted post.
a starter for a Ford is $250?
I'm the same way. With another kid on the way, I could really use some more room than the sentra has to offer. If the thing would quit being so damn fun to drive this would not be a problem.
Then there's my camaro. My own version of yard art, my first car, this coming January will be 10 years I've owned it.
Yes it squeaks, leaks, rattles, pulls to one side, one window doesn't roll down, tires are dry rotted, turn signals don't work, air never has. It basically needs one of everything, like most 20 year old cars. But I do love it so much. I could take up a drug habit and it would be cheaper.
So yes, I feel your pain. Be careful with that flooding, I know your area can get nasty quick with a little rain. We're working in Barbourville right now, and it's a mess down there.

It's funny... I'm not particularly attached to any of my current fleet, but I hate selling things so much that I just... don't. I generally despise trying to sell things.

This is me. I don't have a lot of space for dead projects so I don't collect them, but I find it very hard to sell stuff after I buy a new toy. I've sold 3 cars over the last 6 years, all to people I already knew, fellow racers, and they all sat around for several months not being driven before I could finally let them go.
I've sold 18 over the last three years; I have no trouble selling....my problem is I should stop buying them.
