I posted a couple of car parts for sale on CL and very quickly got responses my first scammer ever. -Sniff- I feel like I've been through a rite of passage.
It was so cute how he didn't mention the item in the e-mail. He wasn't going to be able to pick up the differential in person and wanted to send a certified check. I really loved the way he spelled his name differently in his two e-mails (first it was "Raymond Leggit" then "Rayomd Legitt") and they came from slightly different addresses. Oh, and what a creative name too: "R Legit". Like naming himself that would make me feel he was.
I feel so special now.
You should tell him:
Thankz for yore inquirery about my [axel]. Yes, the [axel] is first raid conditiones and readies to ship. I am in England now with the 199th Aerobourne on detached and must sale this [axel] do too customs but my shippers agent will take care of aarangements with free ship. Please send your Western Union to me at....
Hehehe, that's a great idea. I think I'll do that next scammer I get. Or, I'll find the address for the local FBI fraud division and tell him to send his check and shipping information to there.
(I presume you used [axel] for whatever part I was selling. This was my used [diferentul]. Or should I put a different part in the e-mail because he won't notice.)

I had my first hack this morning. I'm still in bed, wife comes in and asks me why I sent out a nasty on Facebook. I have never used Facebook, don't even know how to get on it. It was a hateful message, to no one in particular, but had my picture in the header, just like it had come from me. Really, no harm, no foul. Still, pisses me off.
That sort of thing worries me. Hope there some way to get that deleted.
