Place I work is hiring, we need people with an automotive technical background with AND without engineering degrees. Need to be able to pass a background check. Work is hands off mostly, but automotive in nature. We have a need of good analytical minds.
Email me for additional details Apexcarver at the gmails.

I'd be curious, don't know if I'd want to live in the DC area.

Mixed bag...
In town sucks for all the usual big city reasons, to live out of town and be able to afford a garage you are usually looking at at least an hour commute. That said, there is good public transit (or at least will be when Metro finishes un-berking itself). Cost of living is high, but the impact depends on your job.
In the season you could pretty much autocross every weekend with a drive of less than 3 hours to an event (usually a good bit less). (SCCA at Fedex, Capital Driving Club, Autocrossers Inc, Porsche and BMW clubs..., nip up to philly region, National Road Autosport out in Cumberland...)
Summit Point isnt too far, Havent gotten to check out Dominion Raceway yet.
Summit Point Kart is opening up indoor-style later this year up by B-more which all indications seem to be that it will be epic. There are a number of other karting outlets around (autobahn, allsports GP)
MGM is also hiring for their National Harbor location that is opening this year. They tried to head hunt me from the Borgata (we are part of MGM now) but as much as I would love to get away from some of my co-workers.. I do not want to go there to be in charge of the stage electricians. I did that job for a week.. they can keep it
I've visited the new SPK location with Jens giving me a tour, it's 550,000 Sq ft of Karting epicness.
What part of DC? I'm intrigued.

I really can't wait. I was at Autobahn Whitemarsh last weekend and the electrics just dont do it for me as much.
I heard something about drone racing happening there as well?
BTW; I have replied to all the emails, so let me know if I missed anyone.
In reply to Apexcarver:
Drone racing is being "beta tested" it certainly has the aerial space and Jens is a master of course design, so seeing what he can come with in a 3D developed course, should be interesting. I'll admit that my mind can't get around actual drone racing, but I can devise some incredibly challenging course elements.
In reply to captdownshift:
Designing an auto-x course is hard enough, I can only imagine the added complexity of an additional dimension.

Oooh I'm gonna have to check this kart track out! We just got an Autobahn track in the Harrisburg area and I haven't had the chance to visit yet. Sounds cool, but I'm not sure how I feel about electric karts either.

Maybe Tesla will come out with a Ludicrous Jr. Model?
