thoughts??
This is not new, but it's supposed to be straight to DVD the last I heard. I wouldn't be surprised if it went to theater though.
I will say this though, Pixar aims the movies at kids, but makes sure the adults are entertained too.
Cars and Toy Story are in heavy rotation for the kiddo. Aside from the goddamned Randy Newman songs. (Get berkeleying cancer already, Randy. Seriously.) They're pretty awesome.

My lol for the day.

Wow! Really?
Other than that, Pixar + I have 3 kids = I'm sure I'll watch it.
Ah, I just did some research through the Disney blogs I visit, and this is going to be a Disney labeled movie (but animation will be done by Pixar most likely). Dane Cook voices the main character Dusty.
The list of voices are:
Stacy Keach (“The Bourne Legacy,” Alexander Payne’s upcoming “Nebraska,” Robert Rodriguez’s and Frank Miller’s “Sin City: A Dame To Kill For”) provides the voice of Skipper, a reclusive old Navy Corsair who takes Dusty’s training to new heights. Brad Garrett (“Everybody Loves Raymond,” “How to Live with Your Parents for the Rest of Your Life”) lends his voice to fuel truck Chug, Dusty’s buddy, coach and biggest fan. Teri Hatcher (“Coraline,” ABC’s “Desperate Housewives”) brings life and charm to the say-it-like-it-is mechanic Dottie. Cedric the Entertainer (“Barbershop,” “Larry Crowne, “Madagascar”) as Leadbottom, a puttering old biplane who has no time for Dusty’s far-fetched flights of fancy. Julia Louis-Dreyfus (“Veep,” “The New Adventures of Old Christine,” “Seinfeld”) lends her voice to Rochelle, a tough and confident racer who is the pride of the Great White North. John Cleese (TV’s “Whitney,” “A Fish Called Wanda”) is the voice of Bulldog, the oldest and arguably wisest racer on the circuit. Carlos Alazraqui (James Garcia on Comedy Central’s “Reno 911”) brings to life the intensely charming El Chupacabra, a racer with more dramatic flair than is recommended at high altitudes. Priyanka Chopra (“Barfi!”) voices the exotic, mysterious and ruthless Ishani, the reigning Pan-Asian champion from India. Roger Craig Smith (Captain America in Disney XD’s “Marvel’s Avengers Assemble,” voice of Sonic The Hedgehog in “Wreck-It Ralph”) voices world champion racer Ripslinger—wings down, the biggest name in air racing—and he knows it. Gabriel Iglesias (Comedy Central’s “Gabriel Iglesias Presents Stand-up Revolution”) provides the voices of both Ned and Zed, two not-so-sharp saboteurs who work for Ripslinger. Val Kilmer (“Batman Forever,” “Top Gun”) provides the voice of Bravo, a member of the Jolly Wrenches and a fan of air racing. Anthony Edwards (TV’s “Zero Hour,” “Top Gun”) is the voice of Echo, a member of the Jolly Wrenches and a fan of air racing. Colin Cowherd (ESPN) gives play-by-play coverage as Colin Cowling, an affable blimp and an eye-in-the-sky reporter for the Racing Sports Network. Sinbad (Comedy Central’s “Where U Been?”) brings to life Roper, an irascible race official pitty full of sly remarks and colorful commentary. Oliver Kalkofe (“Neues vom Wixxer”) provides the voice of meek German minicar Franz and his brazen airborne alter ego Fliegenhosen. Brent Musburger (ESPN, ABC Sports) brings Brent Mustangburger, the excitable 1964½ Ford Mustang sports broadcasting icon, back to the big screen.
The way I know there is no main involvement with Pixar, no John Ratzenberger
Randy Newman has a debt to pay to me and many others for the hours of our lives he's made miserable with his berkeleying horrible, inexcusable, yet catchy songs running through our otherwise intelligent brains. So yeah, I think I'm being pretty generous by only wishing cancer on him.
Yeah. Really. You know how jews hate hitler? That's how I hate Randy Newman.

Randy sings short people
So, I saw the trailer for this on Wreck It Ralph. Anyone else find it interesting that the lead in music was White Zombie?

Or, you know, Titus's dad and Malloy from Escape from LA. ("The United States is a non-smoking nation. No smoking, no drinking, no drugs, no women unless of course you're married. No guns, no foul language, no red meat...")
John Cleese (TV’s “Whitney,” “A Fish Called Wanda”)
Really.
Really?!? THAT's who we're supposed to remember John Freakin' CLEESE from?
Who wrote that junk?

I got it from a blog, so I have no hand in that.
Alright, am I the only aviation goon that realized they hooked up a tow bar to Dusty to hook him up to the catapult? I might have ignored it if it were not highly detailed to include proper Navy serial numbers stenciled on the side.
I got a severe tongue lashing for misusing a tow bar to have a tug tow a pallet jack once (long story)
In reply to neckromacr:
I had to go back and re watch it. Yup! It sure did have the proper stenciling. An equipment code and serial number. Not sure if the equipment code is correct, but that looks just like a F-18 tow bar. The GSE shop I was at in Okinawa had those and P3 tow bars.

wasn't Stacy Keach also Sgt Stedenko in the Cheech and Chong universe?
Not a Pixar movie, it's a Disney Animation movie. Think of Disney Animation as Pixar's newbies. John Lasseter runs both.
When Pixar's contract with Disney was over, Disney announced that they were going to make a bunch of sequels based on Pixar movies, since they owned the rights to pretty much everything. That was one of the major contributing factors in Pixar's decision to stay with Disney. They put John Lasseter in charge of both animation houses, and now Disney Animation is almost as good as Pixar.

Whitworth bolts!
Well, they certainly did not reasearch how to launch a tail dragger with a catapault.
A bridal system was used (not a ridgid towbar!) and it didn't stick out past the prop! It also held the tail down during the stroke. A prop strike on launch is a bad thing....makes the pilot sweat when the fan stops spinning
But I'll still let the kids drag me into the theater to see it
