Official Wordle thread

Post your daily Wordle results here.

After having my game scores wiped out enough times, I started keeping a Wordle Excel spreadsheet.

Out of 297 games, I struck out on 5. My average is 3.801346801.

Yeah, mine gets wiped often. I've given up caring about it. I just play it and forget about until the next morning.

What's everyone's favorite starting word? And why?

One day the Word will be Steak. Then I have my Victory!

I swear I'm not a computer nerd, but my first word is "query."

The one that was right on the first try was cheating, it was when they switched sites to nytimes but the old site was still active and there were two words every day. I knew the word for one of them and wanted to see if I could play both at once. 

That was a hard one. 

Hate this game.

My starting word (slate) has already been the word. Greatness is behind me.

Nice streak! 

After using "LARES" as an opener for  while, my wife shamed me into only words that I might actually use or at least come up with on my own.

My opener is now: REALS

Most frequent word 2: TONIC (followed by TUNIC / COUNT)

If I'm still at a loss, word 2: BUMPY (or DUMPY)

My goal is not to eliminate as many possibilities with the first guess, but with the first TWO guesses.

I like to compare how I did each day against "wordle-analyzer.com" bot. Usually we both do it in 4, but get there different directions. I feel like I've won when I can do it in fewer tries than the AI.

The most frustrating days are - like today - when I know I've eliminated so many possibilities that there must only be one left but I can't figure out what in the heck it has to be.

I still use ORATE as the opener. 

How are you getting an image of just your Guess Distribution?

I just took a screenshot of the stats that pop up after the word is guessed. What I couldn't figure out was how to get an image of the guesses for the word of the day.

I don't use any specific starter anymore, just a random word that pops in my head.

There is a stats button in the top right corner of the screen

I see that, but when I click the "Share" button, it just pulls up today's wordle.

"ROUTE"  has been my starter for the longest time.  It's done me well so far.

My one first word win is also a bit tainted.  Friend of mine gave a bit of a hint, and I used that to my advantage. 

Missed yesterdays. Been going for a little while now. A few friends and I share our results each morning in a group thread. 
 

my feelings on the game largely revolve around my results for the day. Pretty sure the word a few days ago wasn't English but whatever. 
 

My Daughter is away at University. We send each other our Wordle scores each morning. Often that's our only contact for the day. She usually beats me.

My guess distribution:

1: 0
2: 9
3: 110
4: 170
5: 61
6: 17 

My 9yo is better at this game than most adults. I refuse to play.
