IIRC, Papa John actually has 2 Camaros. He had one built to replicate his original, mostly-stock one. After that he put out the reward and found the real one, but it had been turned into a serious drag car. He bought it anyway, but it was a little cut up. As far as I know, the original is still in drag car getup and the replica is the one used everywhere.
Ah, yes. The police reports are mention that this one is the replica. Details of the replica and the original are here: http://jalopnik.com/5344739/how-jalopnik-reunited-papa-john-with-his-camaro

So I'm the only "hater" here he thinks the rear stance doesn't look cheesy? Centerline love or not, the standard Z-28 wheels for these particular cars are one of the best OEM wheels out there. IMHO.
The stance is era correct, and judging by the photos of the car above he wanted to keep it looking the same as it did when he was a kid. His car, his tastes.
I did some Googling and it appears you are on the money. God I hope I don't have to go back and get the old haircut I used to sport. But I wouldn't mind seeing the wife in the platform shoes and halter tops again.
Just to clarify, this theft happened nowhere near the dream cruise, an event that covers Woodward Ave from 8 mile up to Pontiac. Why they were storing the cars in a lot down there I have no clue, it's nowhere I'd park anything of value and a good 9 miles away from the southern end of the event.

Yep, the stance is era correct. He, like many of us, has done his car to meet what he wanted back in da day. Same way my J-H has a set of Minilites; Panasports are great wheels and look a lot like them but I just wanted Minilites back in da day so when I finally got the car, guess what?
I understand that 100%. I love short hood 911s, because that's what I fell in love with when I was in middle school. Sure, long hoods are worth a lot more, but I have the car that I wanted back then.
And Papa John has gained enough free publicity from this little mishap to cover the cost of both cars, and however many more he will ever need.
I’m not a big fan of Papa John’s.
I bet I could get one of his pizza’s through my digestive system quicker than his Z28 could complete the quarter mile.

No kidding. I did not know that. Ya learn something new every day... still cool that he found his old car.

That's why I have a Monte Carlo in my garage I'm pretending to put back together. When I bought it I considered putting Circle Lines on it as well.
It's not the quarter mile time, it's the trap speed that concerns me about a Papa John's pie.

Are we talking directly or relative size?
C'mon. Pizza is like sex, even when it's bad, it's still pizza.

And just like sex, poor choices could result in unpleasent illness.

Some chain pizzas are at best like surprise prison sex.

I don't want to know how you can make that comparison.
You guys must be a bunch of sallys with weak stomachs. I've eaten frozen pizza for breakfast.

I don't get sick from it, I just don't see the need to eat bad pizza. The only place I've ever been that didn't have a good local pizzeria was Albany NY. How an entire city could berkeley up pizza in so many different ways is astounding. Frozen pizza is a different story. Sometimes you want pizza but don't want to wear pants.
Luckily he found it, otherwise he would have to charge more for his (E36 M3ty) pizza to make up for it.
