Watching one of those Important Episodes of DS9.
A fictional character (Nog) is in the holodeck (holosuite?) sitting inside an in-universe fictional character's hotel room (Vic Fontaine) and what is he doing? He is sitting there watching a black and white TV.
I am not sure if this is one of those fourth-wall metaphors or not.
1964: Base model Mustang has a 2.3l engine with a single throttle plate.
1993: Base model Mustang has a 2.3l engine with a single throttle plate.
2022: Base model Mustang has a 2.3l engine with a single throttle plate.
Pondering what it would take to mount the snout of an older Eaton supercharger upside down to take reverse-rotation input.
Why not just run the blower backwards? Air goes in at the base and exits axially... heck it may wind up to be more volumetrically efficient.
One of the floaters in my left eye looks alarmingly like a dead fly.

1964 Mustang had a 3.3l engine (200ci straight six), not a 2.3l.

I had to look it up, because I could have sworn I worked on a '64 with a 144.
What I found is we are both wrong. The 170 was the six in the '64. The 200 was introduced in '64 but only available in Fairlanes that year.
Another thought about automotive attrition. Mazda sold way more Mazda3s than Mazda5s during the same time period. Around me, I see almost as many 5s as I do 3s of the same era. I'm guessing it has joined the pantheon of Astros, first gen xBs, and other extremely practical boxes in being worth keeping on the road as long as possible.

Also, the 3 seems to rust nearly at Italian rates

Yup. The first gen 5 is probably just as bad, but the later ones are better.
The 3s rusted so bad that you rarely saw shock mount failures on them because the body would go first.
That takes concerted EFFORT at corrosion.

The second gen 5 actually seemed to have good corrosion protection

I just read through the George Santos Wikipedia page. If even half of that is true, we are about 5-15 years away from a bioflick, based off of a biography called The Mysterious Rise and Delinquent Fall of George Santos (I assume the movie will have a much cleverer title)
I'm not sure I believe the wiki article. I don't want to. This is the real world, Not the Onion!

Before buying my Subaru Baja, I went and looked at a first-gen Mazda3 sedan. I got there and the rocker panels were non-existent, the bottom two inches of all four doors were curtain lace, the bottom two inches of the front fenders were gone, the bottom two inches of the decklid was also gone, and the leading inch of the hood was crumbling away. It was shocking. Because the car was red, you couldn't see it in the photos but once I got there, I immediately was horrified. I had set up an appointment with the owner to look at it, so I did the courtesy of feigning possibly buying it, and then was even more turned off by the discovery that it had an aftermarket security system, an aftermarket remote start, and an aftermarket sound system. So not only was it five seconds from breaking in half due to rust, it was also five seconds away from an electrical fire from the massively butchered wiring.

Call of the void hit on the drive in to work today. Had my fingers itching.
Anyone know what the highest speed you can open a Miata's roof and not have damage? Anyone have pics?

That hits me way too often on open roads or near overlooks on hiking trails.
I have to tell you all about this most amazing Veggie-Burger that I just made for lunch. I start with a Morningstar Farms Spicy Black Bean burger, throw it into the skillet that I used this morning to cook bacon--lots of good grease in there--and brown it up. Meanwhile, I crack an egg and fry it up, add a slice of Boar's Head Tavern Ham, and top it off with a slice of mild cheddar and a slice of bacon. Served on a fresh bakery bun. Amazing.
And some people say veggie-burgers don't taste good. I don't get it.
If you ever want to meet some interesting people, post an old lawnmower on Craigslist or FBM.

I wonder what the origin of the phrase soaking the time clock is. Cuz if you think about the act of soaking something and apply it to a Time clock it makes absolutely no sense. And I have spent the last 20 minutes thinking about this.

Stop soaking the clock.

Towmotor as a company, or brand name, has not existed since the early 70's. Yet people, including my 25yr old apprentice, still refer to forklifts exclusively as towmotors.
