Guys I bought those from said they found that last mix of boulevard at oreillys. I never saw them at retail either but figured there would be plenty to pick up at the show. There weren't.
Also, the "racing" set was not easy to fun either, there were two vendors with sets and the guy I bought those from had twenty or so of each car. The corvette and gt40 flew off but he had a couple m3/935 left at the end of Saturday. I noticed there is very little love for euro/jap offerings on the whole.
Can someone explain what a treasure hunt car is to those uneducated. Thanks
It's basically a "chase" car. I per case or so. The treasure hunts were originally pretty tough to find but hot wheels diluted them a little bit in 2006. They created the $uper Treasure Hunt which had rubber tires; main reason they did this was to infuse some excitement into adult collectors. So every six or seven cases had a super hunt and pretty well every case had a regular hunt(at this point it was the same as the super without the rubber tires as fancy paint). Fast forward a couple years and they went to a "hidden" hunt for the super, not really marked as a hunt except in the graphics and the regular hunts are mainly denoted by the circle flame logo somewhere in the graphic.
Hope that helps, I collect lots of specific castings as well as chase cars and errors. For the most part I don't even buy regular hunts anymore.
Holy wall of text...

Frame of reference to what Chandler described- the Herbie is a regular car- though I haven't seen any since that first case I found them in. The two Subarus you see are Treasure Hunt cars- they're basically regular cars with a different paint scheme- you can see the little flame logo he speaks of on the right rear quarter. The SS you see in the upper left hand is a $uper- it's got good paint, rubber tires on exclusive wheels, and the graphic on the card reflects the updates vs the regular line.
Also- they're all mine! I found the SS and one of the TH's today, and I have more of the herbies, the jetson car, and a few of the subaru TH's as well as the dragon TH around. First SS I've seen in the wild.

Nice finds. I found 5 of the WRX's hanging front and center at a Kroger a few months ago. Have had decent luck with the recent fantasy TH's.
I snagged my first Auto World Ultra Red "chase" car last week.
Are you guys doing the Race Rewards points at Walmart to get the exclusive Camaro?

I'm trying, but having trouble with my receipt submissions.

1:43 I believe. Yes it came w/ it. Auto-Art I think? I bought it from another GRM'r that had a thread where he was selling 4-5 of these guys cheap. $15 w/ shipping seemed reasonable to me. EDIT- the box said AutoArtModels.com
In reply to Jerry:
Yeah, that's a good deal for Auto Art. They make some nice models. Very nice detail in their 1:18 scale.
I just sold my HWC/RLC Datsun 510 on Ebay for $108. Having that thing sitting on a shelf, given what they are bringing, just could not be justified.

Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione, in red and in black.
Gentlemen, I bring you to the dark side: Kyosho 1:64!
I've been looking for a variation of the W126 for awhile now. Finally have one!

I've been trying to avoid them, especially their road racers. They wouldn't go well at all with the 1/64 Tomica truck I bought off eBay the other night. I may have a small problem.
I have the 2002, the E30 and the E92. No E36 or E46 so far.

Anyone have a cheap way to display the blister packs? I know they make poster sized ones specifically for Hotwheels, but, hey, this is GRM we can do better. I was thinking of using a cheap plastic poster frame and interleave the cards. I've used thumb tacks to hang them like you would on a J hook, but I can't get away with having hundreds of pin holes in the walls here. Anyone got any ideas?

I've thought about the big acrylic cases because all of mine are open (what's the fun in being still boxed up?) and ended up with a big display case from Ikea for about $65. It's pretty full now & debating another one or the acrylic case.
You know, a couple of sheets of super thin MDF board and some glue, Swiss cheese the back to lighten it further, and I think I'd have something. Thanks Jerry.

Michael's recently had a buy one-get one free sale on a variety of display cases. I bought a couple with six shelves approx. 12 X 14 with a glass door. Not sure if said sale is still happening.
I totally don't get not opening them. That's no fun.
