Thinking of seeing them with Cracker at The Vogue in Indy on my birthday (May 14).
I saw they were playing, got some of their music and now I can't stop playing it!!! Anybody seen them in person?

I haven't but a friend of mine who is a connosieur of small-venue live music loves them and says they put on a great show. I'd love to see Cracker, too.
Several times, enjoyed each time immensely. It's been probably 7 years since I last saw 'em, but they always put on a very energetic show. The songs can start to sound a bit alike one after the other, and as the Rev gets drunk sometimes he starts talking and Jimbo has to remind him to shut up and play the song. Looks like they've got a new drummer again, too.
You should go.
Yeah, Horton Heat puts on a great show. Like Scott said after a while all the songs start to sound the same, but at least it is a great song!
Absolutely worth checking out, and Cracker kicks ass too, although I've never seen them live.
My favorite Cracker quote:
"I see the light at the end of the tunnel..............someone please tell me it isn't a train"
I'm posting before reading the other responses because I want to say: They rock!
Go see them live. I've seen them twice and it was awesome. I wear earplugs because our local venue is so darn loud.
Watching them play is even better than just listening. Go!

I saw the Reverand last year at the Lincoln Theatre here in Raleigh. Great show, I would go see them again!

My favorite Cracker quote is: "I don't know what the world needs, but a V8 engine's a good start for me!"
Yep. Killer show. I've seen the Rev. probably 10 times by now; it's not to be missed. And, you'll be shocked by the people that come out of the woodwork for his show. Peoplewatching is half the reason to go.
Seen them twice. Great shows.
The last show was with Nashville Bob Costas and Hank III.
If you like Reverend Horton Heat, check out Southern Culture on the Skids when they come through your area. They will be there, they go everywhere. And bring fried chicken.
Rev. Horton Heat AND Cracker are co-headlining the show. It's a must go, I think. Plus, it's on my 37th birthday. Drinking, music, etc....
A few months ago there was an awe inspiring show at the 9:30 club here in DC:
Motorhead (and I'm sorry I don't have time to type it in word and insert all the umlauts)
With The Reverend Horton Heat plus Nashville Pus s y.
It was like it was 1994 again.
Saw Cracker at the Atlanta Midtown Music Festival years ago. Great show.
Joe, you ain't heard stuff to quote until you hear "St.Cajetan". "All I want is a cool drink o'water!!" Dang, in the live show, Lowery sounded like he was dying for one.
Gotta admit, only saw The Rev. once, back when he was "barnstorming" the Southeast. Not his best night, but good enough to make me go listen to the records...
I caught that Mötörhëäd/Rev/P*ssy tour, too. Fan-berkeleying-tastic. As a bonus, the venue was within walking distance of three strip clubs in East St. Louis - the atmosphere just made the show that much better.
I never miss a Cracker show. They always put on a powerful show. Have been making SCOTS shows since they used to play gigs at my college in the late 80's. "Dirt Track Date" is a must have in any collection.
Another great artist in the same vein is Fred Eaglesmith & the Flying Squirrels from CN. LOADS of car related songs and they used to always travel in an old Silver Eagle or otherwise cool bus, hence a few songs about the bus breaking down too. "Ralph's Last Show" is a great live double album. Good GRM song "Alternator" on 50 Odd Dollars is a must hear as is "Flowers in the Dell", the BEST done wrong by a woman song ever. http://www.fredeaglesmith.com/
And he is going on tour soon!
Saw Cracker several years ago at Wavefest here in Chucktown, they were great. 'Kerosene Hat' is one of my favorite CDs and I can listen to 'Euro Trash Girl' over and over. Missed the Rev Heat, though. And I are a SCOTS fan.
SCOTS are great live! Fried chicken eatin' contests, Cousin Krispy etc. Their albums don't do them justice. Horton Heat is also a top night out. I'd like to see Cracker's predecessor, Camper Van Beethoven do a reunion tour. since we're name checking Southern bands, one of the best I've ever seen was "Hairy Apes BMX" from outta Austin, TX.
