So can someone explain this "Amy" thing?

Apparently I missed the thread about this "Amy" that seems to be the new Forum joke. I saw it mentioned in Margie's Party thread, but what is "Amy" supposed represent?

It was a confession of illicit material from a forum member regarding his FWB, the roommate and adult daughter.

A person wrote a post that was more suited to dear Penthouse than the forum so it got destroyed.

The gist was that the OP may or may not have been a father to a daughter he didn't know about until recently and he was conflicted what to do.

The Amy was the mother of the child in question. Amy also had a girlfriend that was involved with the OP, and Amy simultaneously. Amy also had a daughter from a previous relationship, that was of age but deemed off limits. That rule was broken and led to the OP and Amy & girlfriend situation ending, and being the reason why the OP was estranged from the child in question.

I have the original text somewhere, but here goes-

Amy has come to represent a woman, or a collection of women as the case.may arise, whose morals and sexualpreferences are somewhat ambiguous. This is all due to a thread written by another forum member who I will not out, wherein there were several women, most of whom were named Amy. He laid with them all biblically, sometimes at the same time. One of the Amy s had a daughter, also Amy. He laid.with her too. At some point, one of the Amy's produced a child that may or may not have been concieved as a result of all this fornication. I forget what his race car was.

Theoretically speaking... you have a steady LTR, and a squeeze on the side. The squeeze on the side has a same-sex squeeze of her own. She also has a daughter. You are free to boink any and all. Most of them happen to be named Amy. There is only one rule... no boinking the daughter. You break it, get nabbed, and the whole bag of good times ends in something like stale tears. Later, possibly decades, you think some of your seed may have taken root in one of them and you ask a bunch of gearheads on the internets if you should reintroduce yourself, steal hair samples and/or attempt to be a retroactive paternal influence. You get a resounding "berkeley NO!" whilst providing quite a bit of entertainment for us... er them. And then ask that the thread be deleted leaving only a legend to be handed down by word of mouth to noobs and people with better things to do with their time than read every thread as it appears.

I hate to break it to you Tuna, that's not a girl you are kissing in your avatar. Even if it is labeled Amy.

I think the explanation threads are almost as good as the original was.

All my life I've gotten to the party late and been left wondering "what happened?"

This year I caught it all. Every glorious confession and all the freakouts that people threw around and it was glorious. Amy thread was just the best, the legend will grow but those of us who were there will know the truth.

I actually read the original, but not was smitten with the story enough to really give it much notice other than to think "Breathalyzer needed on Keyboard". Did not give it any more thought until the post became a legend and then I wanted to go back and see if I missed anything. But it was deleted by then.

I did not miss anything. The recaps tell the story much better.

Looked up an ex on the book of faces the other day from ~20 years ago. Everything is cool, we're talking and joking about old times, and old jokes. Then she came out and told me she's been carrying a torch and is ready to drive 20+hours to get to my side right now....

12+ years of building a relationship, or someone who we were so hot for each other as teens, neither of our parents would leave us alone at any time. I think both sides breathed a sigh of relief when dad got stationed halfway across the country.

Trust me, it's easier...

I'm hanging out with an Amy tonight. Her name is also Amy, though no daughters or roommates to speak of (yet).
