Well, you may be right. Since Congress and the house are controlled by the Dems then this must be a fine example of the Dems in actions so now I'm going to vote Democratic!
Actually I could care less who did what, I'm just glad gas is finally back below $3.

It will all become clear very soon... and if you have seen the theatrical trailer (which isn't publicly available yet) you would just about pee your pants.

You can thank the recession for that. The deeper it goes, the cheaper your gas. Here's hoping you stay employed.

So we've been in a recession for decades until just recently? I mean that stands to reason from your comment since gas has only been at these record highs for a short time.

LOL, check out peak oil for the correct explanation. ;)
I don't want a correct explanation, I just want $2.75 gas. Now that I've gotten below $3 I've found I'm greedy and I want more.
screw that... it wasn't that many years ago we had 79 cents a gallon. I'd be down for sub-dollar gas prices :)
Unfortunately I remember 19.9¢ gas
For years I wouldn't buy ENCO gas cause it was 29.9 - 32.9. That was too expensive for me.
I used to be able to fund a weekend's worth of driving by seeing the glisten of soda bottles by the side of the road. We'd pick up enough to fund a tank of gas.
and movie ticket prices arwe down. regular evening showing of a new movie at a nice theater was $4.50 (full price is only for fri/sat after 4)
Ticket prices are up here. I can't get in for less than $8 and most are $10. Which means I don't go to the first run movies often. My dollar movie is now $2 except on Tuesdays when they are a dollar.
Actually, i think what i wrote above is due to the bad economy. Who can afford going out for $8-10 movies.
Are any other products sold in increments of tenths of a cent and then rounded up? That's always bugged me.
Here's my take on the whole mess we are in:
Once upon a time in a village, a man appeared and announced to the villagers that he would buy monkeys for $10 each.
The villagers seeing that there were many monkeys around, went out to the forest, and started catching them.
The man bought thousands at $10 and as supply started to diminish, the villagers stopped their effort. He further announced that he would now buy at $20.
This renewed the efforts of the villagers and they started catching monkeys again.
Soon the supply diminished even further and people started going back to their farms.
The offer increased to $25 each and the supply of monkeys became so little that it was an effort to even see a monkey, let alone catch it!
The man now announced that he would buy monkeys at $50!
However, since he had to go to the city on some business, his assistant would now buy on his behalf.
In the absence of the man, the assistant told the villagers. 'Look at all these monkeys in the big cage that the man has collected. I will sell them to you at $35 and when the man returns from the city, you can sell them to him for $50 each.'
The villagers rounded up with all their savings and bought all the monkeys.
Then they never saw the man nor his assistant ever again, only monkeys everywhere!
Now you have a better understanding of how the stock market works…

"Greed is right, greed works. Greed clarifies, cuts through, and captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit. Greed, in all of its forms; greed for life, for money, for love, knowledge has marked the upward surge of mankind."
what goes up...
Saw gas for $2.79/gal today. No complaints from me (I'm refusing to even look at my 401k statement though...).
