Either a Volvo 850 or a K2500, forget which came first. The Volvo had that "velour" fuzzy cloth type interior, which was not ideal...
I made it clear to my daughter that if she ever had a date that showed up in a split window VW bus, I would most certainly kill him before she got in the car.

Kinky...
I drove a Datsun 310GX - the ladies laughed at that car. Also I doubt anyone would admit to it in a Datsun F10 - the father of the 310.
Maaaaan, you guys are making me all nostalgic.
See, I was a bit of a late bloomer. I had dates to the prom and homecomming and whatnot but when it came to high school status... yeah.
So while high school for me was a complete dud, I later enlisted in the Navy and eventually bought a an '87 Toyota 4x4 while I was stationed at NAS Whidbey island in Washington state (this was in 2001). I had two 6x9 speakers with just enough speaker wire lead to set the speakers on the bed rails behind the cab. I had an air mattress with a thin sleeping bag behind the seat.
It turned out to be just the right right rig and because I had the coast and the cascade mountains, I spent most of my early 20's like this:
I cant say it enough: Man am I glad I got to be young while I was still young enough to be young.
an early 2000's hyundai santa fe followed by a 2nd gen honda odyssey are the 2 cars i've gone all the way in. But my favorite was a 'mouth hug' in my aw11 with the t-tops off with the cruise set at 75 mph
85 Supra, and I'm a tall guy so it was a challenge. The 87 MR2 was worse though, but still workable.

Might want to rethink that policy. If he's driving a splitty these days, he's doing pretty well for himself...
1968 MG Midget. Working on the assumption that "In" or "On" are pretty much equivalent thing for purposes of this "Discussion"
My only "car play" was, IIRC, in the back of a sunbird coupe. 3rd base... while her mom was driving.
In high school I mostly drove a 1989 E150 full size van my parents owned, if I was going out on any kind of 'nice' date or whatever. My daily driver to and from school, or if the van was otherwise being used, was a much uglier '78 Cutlass wagon that might have been the first location of shenanigans. Honestly can't recall which.

Me too. My brother got all the charm, sauve and debonair. I got the brains. Guess which women likes?

I like to think along the same lines, but honestly it's not a decision I've been forced into yet. If I had to choose between my precious interior pieces and a rare opportunity for my broke, unattractive, socially awkward ass to get laid, make no mistake, I would put those interior pieces in harm's way, with little hesitation.
