Sorry if this has been asked before but a friend of mine lives in Ohio and wishes to tint her windows. Apparently Ohio has restrictive laws and only allows 50% on the front side windows. She wants 20% all around (like my allroad in profile).
Is Ohio really into enforcing this? What sort of penalty is she looking at if she goes ahead with the 20%?
In reply to KyAllroad:
I had 20 on my Impala SS in Ohio and never got questioned about it. It's been a while since I've lived there though. I have heard of people getting hassled over it but never happened to me. I think it depends on the individual officer. My guess is they won't really bother pulling over someone for questionable tint but IF they are pulled over for something else it will certainly be addressed.
I guess worst case they have you pull it.
Here in Fl state Troopers carry meters that measure the tint right on the spot.
The tint I had in my F-150 was technically illegal in Michigan, but I was never pulled over in 4 years of ownership.
Hey, I have prosecuted traffic violations in Ohio in the past. Here's the thing. There are 25,000 law enforcement officers in Ohio in over 800 different agencies. There is no coherent policy on anything like this.
And the troopers here have the portable tint tester thing too, not that they really need it to stop you.

Static cling if they make her pull it.
Edit- neon #2 had some illegal tint when I bought it. Seller claimed PO was never hassled for it. I went ahead and removed it from the drivers window. Two years later when I was stopped for speeding the trooper mentioned it but let me go because I had removed it from the one window.
A friend just had his grand prix done at 20 all around. State troopers started ticketing him 2 days after it was done. They did the same too my wife in her old car. In this corner they enforce tint laws.
