In a new form, with Chris Evans:

Everybody, we have some very big news! Yes, Chris Evans has signed a three-year deal to lead an all new line up for Top Gear.
And the final episode of "classic" TG will air in a couple of weeks:

Good news! The BBC has today announced that Top Gear will return to UK telly screens on Sunday June 28, with an extended episode to wrap up Series 22.
Featuring a pair of previously unseen films shot for the most recent series, plus studio links from Richard and James, the one-off will air on BBC Two at 8pm.
Am I supposed to know who Chris Evans is?
Other than obviously not the Chris Evans who plays Captain America?

the BBC said:
The BBC's David Sillito said the all-new line-up meant Clarkson's co-hosts Richard Hammond and James May would not be involved.
In reply to JoeyM:
Which means all 3 show up on Netflix next year.
In reply to SnowMongoose:
If you're a fan of the show, yes.
He's a radio "personality", a bit eccentric and loves Ferrari's. He's basically the melding of bits of Clarkson and May's personalities with Hammond's voice before he hit puberty covered with a ginger person's skin.
So basically not someone you'll probably want to watch, but you should anyway just to see if you like the direction the show is going with him as a presenter.
He's been on the show previously a couple of times:

Ehh we will watch it good or bad or in between because we still watch top gear US(ugh)... We are such a small but undeserved segment of the population.

I think it may work. The old three were getting stale--the show had become a caricature of itself, and I think they needed to have a new avenue, so I look forward to their future endeavors--but new presenters on Top Gear should be good too. Will wait to see it before I make judgement. I just hope they let themselves come into the show rather than forcing a role upon someone.

Yeah, he's a big time DJ/presenter in the UK...and as swede said, he has a thing for Ferrari's...most notably known for painting most of them white.

I'll be surprised if top gear makes the 3 years Chris has just agreed to.
He was tedious enough in small doses. Sure he's funny and a car guy, but so are the hosts of other car shows and top gear franchises.
Whether people like it or not, clarkson, may and Hammond are top gear, its their chemistry together that made it great. It's why both the American and Australian too gears are complete stinkers by comparison.

I disagree. The reason US and Australian are clunkers are that they're the same show trying to force the same personalities as the original, just with different accents.
In reply to turboswede:
Oh, he's one of those 'Stars in a reasonably priced car' British celebs who I never paid attention to, got it.

After a couple of seasons I kinda checked out on top gear. Watched the US version twice. No need for a third. Maybe it will be different enough to be interesting again.
The last episode with the MX-5 was pretty good.
It can still be a good show. I'll give it a chance.
Top Gear needed fresh blood anyways. I just am dumbfounded on why they picked some generic TV presenter but the format is probably going to be COMPLETELY different. Probably have segments with this guy setting them up i'm guessing. Like before except the host isn't in the videos it's whatever people they have on the show for that episode.
I think the cinematography was a key element to the show’s success.
It’ll probably be immediately obvious if they kept the behind the scenes talent on and if they did, I’ll be more inclined to give the show a chance to grow on me.
In reply to RX Reven':
I agree with that. I never found TG to be stale or boring. And your right about the cinematography, it was world class and was a large part of what made the show so appealing, combined with the content and the personalities.
The old show will be missed. And I strongly disagree that it was past it's prime and time to move on. But will be willing to give the new show a chance. I've watched some very unwatchable shows just because of car content.
Ehhh....I was afraid he was going to be the one chosen. I didn't really care for him at all when they did the segment where James drove his ferrari he just bought.

He just seemed to rub me the wrong way for some reason.
If they manage to snag Guy Martin like I've heard rumors off, I'm sooooo in. Even if I never understand a word he says.

Is it because he has a garage full of Ferrari's painted white that weren't white from the factory? That's why I don't like him.
Guy Martin I would watch, I don't need to understand him. Chris Evans, meh.

Yeah, but he doesn't have any Fords, either. So that should be a plus for you....
In reply to turboswede:
Don't take it seriously, I just like to poke the bear from time to time. But really Fiord suxors.

Oh, that guy.
Yeah, from what I saw during that episode, zero interest in seeing him as a host.
I think my ideal right now would be Martin, Harris, and Schmitz.
I'll wait the extra year+ for it to hit netflix vs. trying to watch it new.

I don't have pay TV so until it hits Netflix, I'm out anyway. Maybe by then the original 3 will already be there anyway.
