Helped a buddy put wheels on his trailer after he got new tires put on.

The lug nuts were on the wheels with the tapered side out and the flat side in.

It seems to me like the tapered side should go in correct? I put them back on how they were but in my mind it should be tapered side in towards the wheel.

I should switch these right?

Yes, the taper should go in. At least that's how all mine have been. If it's just a low speed farm trailer it may not matter.

In reply to EvanB :

Thanks. That is what I thought, but I was questioning myself. It is just a firewood trailer.

There has to be a way to center the wheels on the hub, either hub centric or lug centric. If the latter, the tapered lugs align the wheels.
