Been trying to clean out the garage some, was digging through my tool stash, and pulled these out of a toolbox.
I think they were part of an auction lot my dad bought years ago when a local plant nursery was closing down. The concept is kind of neat, and if they were metric, I'd consider stashing them in an emergency toolkit. But, since I've never used them, and they are SAE, I likely never will have a use for them. Anyone know what they are called?
That is a socket end wrench
Dad used to refer to them as "knuckle busting sons of a mother dog", but I think the correct name is flex head combination wrench.

They are known as Saltus wrenches.
Yes, they're Saltus wrenches.
My father in law refers to them as scrap.
Thanks! I'll toss them with whatever tools I'm getting rid of, and see if someone will buy the lot. Or I'll scrap them

I'd be interested in the lot.

Looking around my garage, I think a decent amount has been moved to a storage locker. Want me to text pictures of what I want to get rid of next when I get to it?

Sure let me know.
The 9/16 version is a great fanbelt tool to have for a Corvair. The socket end it about perfect for the idler nuts, which can be hard to get to.
Having the name is good since I want to buy at least one more to put in the car toolbox.
Flex head seems to a name used also, but that is also used for the wrachet end style also. Saltus appears to be the proper name, but almost no one uses it to describe them.

I'd call them bofa wrenches.
As in, you have two different ways to get a nut loose.
