Depoe Bay - World's Smallest Harbor. Gotta stop there, if nothing else to just watch a boat or two scoot through to entrance. You can't go wrong with the Oregon coast. Enjoy the trip.

Thought i would update and thank everybody for their suggestions. So Friday we flew into Portland got our rental car a flashy little blue corolla "S" paddle shift pretty good throught the twisty stuff, drove up to the Timberline Lodge spent the night there and had a nice meal, second day, down the the Columbia River Gorge, got on the Stern wheeler for a 2 hour cruise, (yeah they let me drive it), left there and drove up to Astoria, we tried to stop at that big waterfall in the middle of the interstate and after about 30 min in the parking lot we got a spot that was about 8 inchs deep in mud, made our way up to the falls but there were to many people there, in Astoria we had a great hotel room right under the bridge got to see several big vessels pass by, got up next day and ate at the Pig & Pancake, with 5 location up and down the coast to serve you, (good food)starting down the 101, bought the costal park pass and stopped at many of those sites, down to the Haystack then down to the 176 milepost where we stayed at the light house keepers old quarters, met two other couples that where also from the south (Ga & Al) awoke the next morning to a 8 course breakfast and headed south on the 101 again down to Gold Beach, where we dined at The Port Hole, great seafood, stayed there overnight so we could ride on the Rouge River jetboats, right here is where i will tell you if you ever get the chance to ride these bad bouy's do it, they build their on aluminum boats each boat has 3, 502 big blocks and they can travel in as little as five inchs of water, we went up river about 30 miles we saw bald eagles, deer, otter, osprey etc... had a great BBQ lunch then back down river, the cool thing about these boats is they get up a pretty good head of steam and then the dude spins the boat and cools everybody off with a good splash or two, our pilot had been driving the boats for 32 years and could tell some funny E36 M3, we would be full blast and he would lock it down and say "ok, everybody look on that bluff, you see right up there at the top just to the right of those two trees, Yep we saw something there once! so that is cool boat trip on the Rouge, got back and headed south on the 101 again on down to Cresent Beach California stayed there on the beach overnight, got up and headed back north through the redwoods, das some big ass trees you got there, on up to Crater Lake for lunch at the lodge overlooking the lake which that day (last Wednesday) was more like Crater Cloud, still lots of snow, raining and a cold wind was blowing, saw what we could of that and headed to Odells Lake Lodge were we got a little two room cabin and had some good food in the lodge, left there and headed through the Willamatte Valley stoping at several cool water falls....then back to Portland to await the loooong fight back home...anyway thats great county you folks have up there and thanks for helping us plan the trip, we had a great time, took about 300 pictures..... 5 weeks we leave for Jackson Hole
