My adopted state seems bent on proving that they have a monopoly on stupid...
The 20-year-old daughter of a pastor is fighting for her life after she was accidentally shot in the head at her family's church.
The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office was called to the Grace Connection Church in St Petersburg, Florida on Sunday afternoon when a stray bullet went through a wall,
Mr Zambrana, 48, was reportedly explaining the gun's safety features and took out the magazine but was unaware there was a bullet in the chamber.

I wish Florida had the monopoly on stupid.. but places like GRM headquarters keep proving them wrong
It's all those transplanted Yankees down there that's causing it.

I'd love to argue....I can't though, since I'm trying to build the fastest combination washing machine-box-fan-water-heater in the state...We transplants are clearly not normal folk
I hate hearing stories like this. Basic firearm safety is so easy to follow.
Stop making me regret moving here!
A local radio show gives hoser stories such as this one and callers guess what state. Its always one of four states. My guess is either Florida or California and I'm usually right. Guss there's something in the drinking water.

Cliff's: off-duty cops speed like crazy in South Florida, some causing fatal crashes, with little accountability.
That's horrible. I hope she pulls through.
The Gulf Coast has a monopoly on more than just stupid though.

It's not just Yankee transplants that make for the SoFla adventure. Don't forget the Quebeckers, and a lot of our transplants are lacking documentation, but that does not keep them from driving, even if their last vehicle was powered by a donkey.

Driving in Miami was always fun. There are no hard and fast rules, just occasionally enforced suggestions.

"Driving in Miami was always fun." You, Sir, are sick.
"There are no hard and fast rules, just occasionally enforced suggestions." This is spot on.
I watched a guy get machine gunned by a crazed driver once. Right beside me on I-95, downtown Miami. UZI time!

Cops suck. Protect and serve, my ass.

That just means that not everyone in Florida is stupid. It doesn't mean that Florida does not have a monopoly on stupid. Although Alabama seems to do their best to disprove the latter.

You suck.
How about cops generally suck? I know there are decent ones out there. But in general, they suck.

I am in Alabama and I can't argue with that. It is nice to live off of the same road as Barber though.

The Adam Carolla show does something similar called Germany or Florida.

I took some wrong turns in the city a couple times because girls suck at directions, but all in all it was amusing.
You'd think people in SoFlo would know how to drive in the rain - they don't though.
So many things are allowed to slide as long as you're not in one of the nice parts of the city, and some things (traffic lights) are pretty much allowed to slide citywide.

Not the first time this has happened.

This is so avoidable the stupidity /tragedy should be a reminder to all never go to a church . Oh and the gun thing .
Mr Zambrana, 48, took the two men into a small closet at Grace Connection Church in St Petersburg, Florida to show them the weapon
I never voluntarily get into a closet with a man holding a gun. That is one of my rules in life.

It's hard to come up with a scenario where it would be a good idea.
Unfortunately, I just hear a report on the radio that the girl didn't make it.
that is a shame.. to die because of somebody else's stupidity.
I have no problem with the darwin awards.. but when somebody innocent gets removed from the genepool.. that is a tragedy
