I can't believe you posted such a gruesome video on here. Now the pitbull guys are going to go nuts defending their dogs, saying "this doesn't represent 99% of pits."

It's allright, the first step to recovery is admitting that you have a problem.

clearly the pitbull is just toying with the kitten and waiting until she get's bigger therefore being a meal instead of a snack
One of my neighbors raises pitbulls, and it's always funny to hear other folks around talk about how dangerous they are, and it's lucky he keeps them locked up. People actually run inside when he takes them out for walks.
If they'd just go over there and talk with the guy, they'd see they're more in danger of being licked to death by his dogs then attacked.
On the flip side, growing up we had a sweet little beagle that never knew any other animals or people other than us, and he was protective to a fault. He didn't know any better though, because we failed to socialize the little guy.
yeah if you beagle flipped out and bit someone .... compared to when a pit bull does
I don't like getting dog bit.. ( and have been a couple of times ) but I'd take my chances with a beagle
That's kinda what I was getting at, I don't believe pit bulls have some secret "beserker mode" that sets even the meekest ones off at anytime, I think it's just poor handling on their owners part.
Sure, my little 20 pound beagle could go on an ankle biting rampage, and no one would really be bothered. Now say, if we had owned a pit bull or German Shepherd...it would've been an entirely different story.

When a meathead gets his hands on a Pitbull and train them to be vicious by punching the dog in the head and constantly screaming at it, gee I wonder why they go off.
My Pitbull is so gentle, he is a comedian and loves his smaller brothers, he is also very gentle with out 4 year old nephew and our 6 month old.
Of course he has never been struck.
We have friends who foster dogs & have an affinity for pits. Their oldest dog Cooper, (he was mix & about 60-lbs) got into a scuffle with another dog(also not a pit) over a toy. Two of their pits jumped in & and within moments had ripped the throat out of poor Cooper & he died on the spot.
Yet they still chant "blame the owner, not the breed", even though their pits are very loving and obedient, yet still did this. :(
Is that a pit? It seemed a lot taller then the pits I have met. My friend has a pit black lab mix that had been left tied to a tree pregnant before it was rescue. That dog is the biggest softie I have ever met.
Of all the animals I have a lot experience with the meanest was an old cat of ours. The thing lived to be 19 and lived outside everyday of it's life. I saw this cat chase a full grown Rottweiler off once.
Our akita (just had to put her down a few months ago) would play with our cat on the same way. It amazed my that a 95 pound Akita could put most of the cats body in her mouth and nobody ever got hurt.
I guess any dog can be made vicious and any breed can be raised gentle .... but the big breeds ( Pits, Rots, Shepherds etc ) do much much more very real damage than the smaller breeds when they do attack
at one time the breed that held the record year in and year out for reported bites were the Spaniels .... but very few if any deaths as a result
Holy hell, that dog could be related to mine! I'll have to find a picture somewhere...
(And yes, I know tons of pits. All at least 60 pounds of total Bob Costas.)
