Trying to rig up 5.1 speakers to my PC using the onboard audio. I had them running off an ancient Audigy card, but it crapped out, so here I am. There are only three jacks off the motherboard (MSI Z97 PC-Mate), and I need them all to feed the speakers, but out of the box only one is set up as an output. I'm given to understand that the functions can be remapped in Realtek Audio Manager, but after checking that it was installed and updated, when I click on the executable, nothing happens. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers to no avail.

I'm not wedded to using the Realtek software, but I don't know if there are alternatives. I just need to remap the audio jacks by whatever means necessary. Suggestions for either getting the stock software to work, or some other software that will do the job, would be appreciated.

Courtesy bump. I can't help you but I am curious as to the solutions.

Yeah, that's the direction I'm leaning. This seems like one of those Windows problems that could end up being way more trouble than it's worth.

Sounds like it exists but may be crashing on launch, I've had enough problems with Realtek software before to push me to add different hardware as well...
