This is what my 50 year old Craftsman 3/8 breaker bar and HF clamp look like after my son tried to do a brake job on his friends Saab. They eventually had to find a mechanic that torched the bolts out and put in a brand new caliper.

Craftsman tools are replaceable for free.
Sons are not.
At first I'd be like - come on......
Then I'm glad he's off his cell phone doing and learning. Good job on raising him right.

Pretty sure I broke all my dads tools too.
Today I asked Lil Stampie where my metric hex keys were. "I don't know." Walked into his room an hour later to see them sitting there. Started to walk out and said "Bet my caliper is in here also!" Yep I was right.
I've broken so many out those C clamps through the years. They just can't hold up to rust belt brakes.
I've broken 3 of those 1/2" craftsman breaker bars myself... I get it.
I bent a C-Clamp once. Dad saw it later and said "that better not be mine."
I could honestly say it wasn't.
However, I did bend a pry bar he had ended up with when he got out of the USMC. Good part of that was he was right there with me working on whatever damned project that was.
Well at least you know he's not weak 
I always got blamed for Dad's missing tools.
Even several years after I'd moved out and owned my own repair shop.
I thought every shop had one of those...
