Just starting a thread to track this. Not a lot of info yet other than the release date, but even that was a bit old:

Someone is saying that in and interview, they said it would support modding. Certainly a new engine and likely tire models and such from ACC.
Being on a different engine than AC/ACC is good news, that improves the odds that AC might be open-sourced some day...although I expect that might happen in AC2's waning years, because it would dampen demand for all commercial driving sims from that point.

Watching with interest...
Looks like it's called Assetto Corsa Evo.
Very little info, just a few screen shots, with the semi-predicatably modern nicely modeled cars.

There is a preliminary Steam page: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3058630/Assetto_Corsa_EVO/
The only thing that seems likely is that they are adding weather (one of the screenshots)
And there is a shot of what appears to be an older 911:
Here is what the Steam page shows (mostly marketing):
Assetto Corsa EVO redefines the realism and features of one of the most popular multiplatform driving simulations ever developed.
As with its predecessor, Assetto Corsa EVO will include cars from different classes spanning across years of motoring history. From road cars, classics, hypercars, and race cars. The most iconic representation of the automotive and motorsport world. Each vehicle is reproduced through an advanced system that simulates mechanical, electronic, and aerodynamic performance, combined with the fidelity of the circuits created using Laserscan technology.
Assetto Corsa EVO raises the bar of realism that has made the franchise one of the most popular driving simulations of the last decade even higher.
With the launch of a new KUNOS Simulazioni proprietary, high-performance photorealistic engine, VR and triple screen support have become first-class features and the new mathematical model meticulously simulates asphalt performance in different dynamic weather conditions that guarantees an authentic and realistic experience which will redefine the standards that have made Assetto Corsa globally renowned.
EVO represents the commitment from the development team at Kunos to the motoring enthusiasts, in our shared passion for cars, driving, and racing.
Stay tuned across Assetto Corsa social channels, more details on game features will come down the road.
Did I miss this or was it delayed?
No new news I can see. Expected before the end of the year.... maybe?
Edit: I missed Aircooled's post about the name change. Thanks for that info AIr!
The latest news is the name changed to Assetto Corsa EVO. Still releasing in 2024 but early access is supposed to be summer. It doesn't seem to be the case. Im still hoping for 2024 release, Steam shows that my current rig should have no problem running it.
