Has anyone used a Combat Rifle and put a .38 receiver in it? I'd like to use some of that ammo more than just my plinker of a pipe sniper rifle. Which is useful for enemies that aren't rushing you and can't hurt you much at the farther distances.

Every time I see builds like those, I think: Minecraft Player.

I'm happy just having a supply line; enough beds, food and water; some stores out in the open and a ton of defenses.

In reply to RossD:

No. The only thing I have used .38 for is a light weight pipe pistol with the most bullet clip and the auto receiver. It is useful with lots of ghouls. The combat rifle would be similar with better power.

Ditto. Now that I've got the .45 CR sniper thing up over 100 I don't use much of anything else anymore!

Yeah they are. I need to make a MIRV one. Then find a double shot fatman so I am firing just a metric E36 M3load of nukes.

Did you not see my destruction vids from a few pages back in the Castle?

Big Boy 2-shot fat man + MIRV is by far the single most destructive weapon in the game. Heck, I had trouble getting it recorded due to dying on the castle wall when shooting into the citadel.

Even though it lists damage at around 40(instead of 450ish), theoretical damage(for the 2 six packs) is around 5,500 without any bonuses or perks.

So the update arrived and I am not happy about it. Besides it eliminating the ability to duplicate things that was usefull it has caused alot of glitching and freezing of the game. I have had several hard locks the required a complete system reboot.

Anyone else have these issues? I am thinking of pulling off all the game saves to a thumb drive and deleting the update and reinstalling the game.

Dean, I haven't played since the update. What system are you on?

I player a lot this weekend without issue on PC.

Dean - if you are on PC, just use the console to spawn items. If you were willing to use a glitch, the console is the same.

OK, 94 hours in. Level 57. Just went back to the main story line. BoS showed up, found Kellog and tracked down Virgil. At what point am I locked into an ending? Or do I have a long way to go?

A mission called "The Molecular Level" IIRC.

FWIW, if you follow the Minutemen quest line all the way, you will still be on a somewhat good standing with 3 of the 4 factions. ;)

I'm still doing MM side quests. How do I follow their "quest line" and which faction do I piss off? I really like the BoS access to good E36 M3.

I am on the PS4. Lean me more of this spawning of things to copy them. I really liked just roaming around and picking fights with whom ever I happen to stumble on. I am doing some of the quests but I really get a kick of hanging way back and using my 308 sniper rifle and getting things you can not see unless you are looking through the scope. Get my sneek on and I can take out whole groups of people and they never know what hit them this way. Well except for the mutant dudes. They seem to be able to track me down but that is fun as then then chase is on. I use the duplication to make things to sell just to get more ammo.

You should be right on it if you have already found Virgil. He will tell you how to build the teleporter to get in.

They're referencing spawning items via the console command prompt on PC, last I heard it was still up in the air if PS4 will ever get modding for Fallout like the XboxOne will eventually.

On the console versions, one of the few exploits that are probably left at this point is probably the companion unlimited carrying capacity exploit. Drop E36 M3 on the ground and tell your follower to keep picking it up(note: this never worked with dogmeat)

I played with two different play styles, one with the Minutemen, and one with the Institute. I may wait to finish with the Railroad and the Brotherhood of Steel on PC so I can do some cool mods that aren't available on the PS4.

I was over 5 days on my first playthrough. Just finished yesterday with the Railroad. I ended up getting stuck in pissing everyone off. For some reason I couldn't get any more of the MM main quests to show up once I got into the Institute. Oh well, on my next play through maybe, which I already started and am going all Melee and explosives (I am letting myself have the fat man but not the missile launcher). Already at level 10 or so.
