Nice!!!!!
I have a 2tb drive I need to decide what to do with. Part of me wants to build a dedicated computer for my sim rig. Maybe even go to VR as I have an index that my sone is not using. I would pull the 2060super from my current pc. In that computer I would put a new RTX4000 sff. That would complete my small ff build I use as a desk top and give me a dedicated pc for the sim rig. The server would stay the same.
I could move the server to my sim rig but with me leaving it on all the time I don't want a high power GPU in it. But that would make running the server and playing easier as I am only dealing with one pc.
I have wondered if there is a way to install a physical switch for the power to the GPU but what happens if you cut power to a GPU? If you turn it back on will it be re detected and just work or will it require a re boot of the pc?
I just had a thought. If I had GPUZ running I could limit the wattage to the absolute minimum when I am not gaming on it. Wonder if that would work.
Set up a low power config for when I am not gaming and a non limited power config for when I am gaming. Hummmm.
Just having the high-powered GPU in place won't use much power, it only really sucks power when the GPU usage goes up. It may even have a power monitor feature you can see with something like Open Hardware Monitor.
Final Results and Standings for 914's.
For some reason the replay for the first race did not save for me. Does anyone else have it? You can put it in the Transfer folder on the Google drive. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1eAIhfH0m6q21nj1TjfSME3TpnfXJcUQU?usp=drive_link

I uploaded the replay files from the last race into the replays directory the same night.
Edit: I was checking over them and it looks like they don't contain the whole race because of the filesize limit I'd set, if anyone else has the full replay they should replace the ones I uploaded.
Gameboy's will work, thanks.
Not sure why it didn't save. Normally the first race isn't even a big deal, but this one was rather exciting!
I will most likely be on tonight. I want to start looking at tracks for the GT4 cars. Try some big ones and some small ones and see what we like. I was hoping to do a more Europe based series using some of the more famous tracks from over there.
Why not look at Estoril, or Magny-Cours as a couple of options. I think the GT4 cars could work well at those tracks
We can do that. I did try the cars on other tracks last night and things changed a lot with the cars on different tracks. I am now pulling away from using the McClaren and the Merc is looking like my car of choice. Gameboy has got the McClaren Dialed. He is going to be a force to be reckoned with if he drives that car.
I've actually been running the McLaren on all default settings...but I have half a mind to take the slightly slower but more recoverable and fun to drive Alpine over the McLaren. If you get sideways in the McLaren, it's as dire a situation as in any F1 car, and likewise there's very little lock angle to countersteer with. Like many of the other modern McLaren race cars we've tried, it has "everything is fine, until it isn't" handling. It has top-tier cornering and the best gearing of the bunch though...
OK, for some reason, I now have no replays for the Limerock race. I know I had the second race, and Gameboy's first race, but now, nothing.
I was keeping a lot of replays, so that might be some of the issue.
Gameboy, if you can put what you have back into the Transfer or Replays folder, I will see what I can do. If anyone else has them, you can also upload them.
In reply to GameboyRMH :
I am going with the Merc unless we end up with a bunch of people driving it. I like the McClaren so that could be an option. The Supra, BMW and The Aston are all on my A list of cars. I am a bit faster in the McClaren but it is such an unforgiving car when it gets loose it is very hard to save it.
I am leaning towards the Alpine because I like the way it handles. I really have not tried the other cars much, I might try to put some time into them though. If there is an over concentration on some cars, I will also likely switch to a lesser used one (and will take suggestions) if needed since I am not really what you would call "In serious T-shirt contention"
Also, make sure to check out the livery variations for the cars if you have a preference. It makes a bit more work for Dean, but it's only a one time setup and could make the races look better.
I think we are hosed with the replay for the last race. Mine are gone and Gameboy's are some practice and the end of maybe the second race (?) Neither of which have any real action in them, and none of the crashes or incidents.
Oh well. I have cleaned out my replay pile, so hopefully this won't be an issue in the future.
Here is a pic from one of Gameboy's replays:
OK, this was definitely a good one for replays. Lots of stuff going on. It should be noted that Dean did wait, quite a while, after that punt ("pass the torpedo").
Again thanks to 914 for saving the day here. An interesting thing is that his replays were way smaller than mine (50 vs 250 megs). I suspect his resolution setting is lower, but it is not apparent at all in the replays. So, if you want replays, but are worried about space useful to know.
