Just sent you an invite to join the race.
Sorry about that, bad set up, got popped twice and the car developed a heavy pull, pitted came out got popped again by a leader and said berkeley it.
Wow, I did horrendous. Found out I don't know anything about the pit set ups and didn't notice that the pit tire pressure was putting me at 2.5 bar.
No wonder I was unable to drive it at all after I had to fix the car the first time.
I hope I didn't mess with anyone's race. I hope to have this figured out soon.
At least we are all consistent. We consistently take the last places. Getting lapped by the seventh place bot is embarrassing.
I caused my own trouble. Seventh starting position wasn't bad but I spun my tires at the green flag and put myself at the back. Ten laps later I had worked back up to 11th and was making progress when a momentary lapse bounced me off a barrier and forced a stop for suspension damage. No big deal. It was about time for my stop anyway. When I left the pits the car just didn't seem to want to go. It was much slower. After a couple of laps I looked and all four tires were red. I thought that maybe my terrific pit crew only repaired the suspension damage and didn't change tires. So I pitted again. This time when I left the pits I saw four new green tires. But wait... Within a lap they were all red again and wearing very fast. I had not set up the pressures on my pit strategy. The pressures were too low. I drove them until they were worn out (4 laps) and pitted AGAIN. This time having to edit the pit strategy and making a long stop. Didn't really matter as by this time I was 14th anyway.
The learning from this race, besides to set up tire pressures in the pit strategy, was that the hotter you run your tires, the faster they wear. Tires running 190 or so last longer than tires running around 220. Over that, they really wear fast. My whole miss-adventure is posted on Twitch.
I don't think that the bots are making pit stops in the 45 minute races.
Should we all re-think Series 3 since the VRR series has changed and there is no real need to coordinate with them? Should we talk amongst ourselves about what we would like to run? Maybe drive a slower series of cars until we improve our skills? As Brad mentioned, we were able to actually be competitive by the last half of the Touring Car Series 1. Production based cars don't damage as easily with a bit of racin' rubbin' either. Maybe GT4?
Any thoughts?
I like road based cars, but no retros. I hate the tires required.
How about a one make Caterham series? Just a thought. Nothing more GRM than a Locost.
GT4 does look like it is a very well done series.
Argo do not get the (insert slowest car here)

Hey, don't be taking away my favorite excuse.

That can't be right, I have your favorite excuse as "it's the bots fault"
I was going to bow out after trying to figure out some settings last night. I couldn't even get around the track dang track! I wish I had a wheel.
Changing to a different car type I'll give it another shot.
It is funny you don't like the vintage cars, those and some of the homologation cars are the only ones I have raced since the game was released.
I don't like close racing in the vintage cars. I really enjoy the LMP2s but last night (begin excuses now) I was tired from work, I got started late, the tires were going away much faster than previously (I even went up a hardness and up on pressure). I never could get back up to speed, then I got punted right after exiting from the pits, already a lap down I said berkeley it, time for sleep.
I've already posted threads on other sites for Series 3. I think we stick with GT3 cars, but would be open to shortening the series.
I'm good either way. GT3 or GT4. GT3 is nearly the same pace as LMP2. Faster straights. Slower corners. I would be for cutting the series down to 9 or 10 races either way. Series 4 after that. Both series are production based and more "bump resistant" than the prototypes.
Updated points. Replay is going right now, I'll update it when it is finished.
Regarding the next series, we have others who have registered from the Project Cars forums. So, we'll stick to GT3. We can run GT4 in Series 4. I'll shorten the series to 10 rounds.
That's cool. Since there are others interested in it I will sit out the GT3 series. Definitely hit me up for the GT4 though Given this next quarter at work, and the fact a long series would run into the holidays (My family has all our birthdays from October through Jan 2 so the end of the year is busy).
A question, not like it really matters, but what is the difference in what I did this week and what Argo did the previous week in regards to application of points?
You left, and weren't classified as a finisher by the game. I actually need to go take points from Argo for last week. I just forgot to do it. The game actually still said he finished, just was like 25 minutes back. It wasn't until he said he went to the garage that I knew he quit.
Don't skip the GT3 series, we need more people and less bots.
DNF = 0 points. Thems the rules.
It wasn't you that made me take them away, I just didn't have a chance to do it last week and forgot this morning when I was catching up.
It'll all even out anyway. I'm going to miss the last race, so we will all end up with at least I DNF/DNS
Sort of like LeMans: 1st to 45th on the last lap due to a DNF. Points really don't matter in this "practice" series.
How many GT3 competitors do we have signed up at this time? A ten race season will be much better.
Can we tell on the replays if the bots are pitting during the 45 minute races? Would running a 60 minute race make for more interesting strategy?
I know they pitted at Silverstone, LS and the 'ring. I could believe they didn't this week, I was getting pretty good tire wear. I probably should have run Mediums and not stopped. Softs would have been a challenge to make last.
Based on the posted time trial times, it looks like the Alpine has the legs at Imola. Should be a boost to Hunter. Seems like a wider raceable track. I got to the 42's after 5 recon laps.
