The Honda is still probably better, but I do agree it looks dated at this point.....and thanks for mentioning the profile, I really need to update that damn thing. The three new things from last year aren't in my garage yet.

The Honda was probably built by SYM, the same company that builds the Tomos.
Picked this up today.
02 BWS50 with pipe, carb, and 80cc bore and stroker kit.
First ride I buried the 80 km/h speedo right to the bottom. Needs a bit of tuning, but seems to run pretty good and everything works. Not bad for $600
Sweet. When I put my Ruckus up for sale, I may keep an eye out for one of those. With those mods, I'd assume you've be able to go a little faster, unless you are rev-limited.
It has an 80 km/h speedo. I can pass 80, and pin the needle right to the bottom of the speedo in less than a 1/4 of a km. I don't know what top speed is for sure, but my guess is pretty close to a true 80. I'll get the GPS on it later in the week and find out for sure. It feels like the clutch and variator are set up very aggressively, and it's not easy to ride, so I'm going to try changing the clutch weights first and see if it mellows out a bit. Just what I needed, another project.
I'm not a big guy, but I'm surprised at how compact this thing is. I didn't remember them being this small. I'll ride it for the season, then decide whether or not to step up to a 150 4 stroke machine like the Tomos.
