The already-hot action heats up even more on day 3 of the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed, July 13, as drivers attempt to set the fastest times they can during the Timed Shootout qualifying.
The party starts at 8:30 a.m. with drift cars plus icons celebrating the success of Joest Racing, Niki Lauda and Mercedes-Benz making their runs.
Several cars dating from 1970-2024 follow at 9:20 a.m., then its more brand-new cars and motorcycles at 10:05 and supercars at 10:45 a.m.
Next up, at 11:40 a.m., are the Formula 1 cars as well as Grand Prix, off-road and dirt motorcycles.
12:20 p.m. sees a break in the action to celebrate motorcycle racer Michael Dunlop, who has achieved a total of 29 victories in the Isle of Man TT.
Starting back up at 12:30 p.m., more familiar favorites take on the hill, including racers from 1890-1960, drift cars, F1 cars and racing motorcycles.
Some of the most exciting action of the day, however, starts at 2:50 p.m. with the start of qualifying for the Timed Shootout.
Two-time CART champion and 2003 Indy 500 winner Gil de Ferran, who passed away in December of last year, will be honored with a special gathering before his Indy 500-winning car makes a run up the hill at 3:10.
New cars and motorcycles, supercars and even more racers from 1890-1960 will then close out the day’s celebrations.
